Topping DX5 II

yes, I have exact same sticker with typo, ordered from audiophonics.fr - but no such scratch marks on surface.
So at least it's original, but either used or QC asleep on the job.

Maybe it's the point at which the fuse "says goodbye"

I think my D90 and A90 came with green QC approval stickers when I got them, but I may be misremembering. This came with no QC sticker :D

Despite the cosmetic fault, I am very happy with the FFT home display on rosy brown, it's awesome, and it's super nice to shrink my D90/A90 setup and sell it haha.

A month wait after returning my initial faulty unit (left channel crackling), finally received a replacement from Topping in Black - works flawlessly. Glad there's been a firmware update since then which addressed many of the other issues I was facing, I did have to update this unit though, it did not come pre-installed with V1.49.

Running a pretty aggressive EQ with -10db pre-amp on my Dan Clark E3s, enough power from this unit to make my ears hurt, just about.

Chuffed!

I just sold my unit. Used for maybe 5 hours. Didn't use the remote. The buyer just sent me a message that the remote is 't working. Is there a special way to make this work? It is in dac mode now, he didnt reset the unit.

Edit some grammar. The buyer of course.

Is there a battery in the remote?

Yeah, but he is not sure that they are full ones. Tomorrow, he will place new batteries. He did test with his phone. The remote is blinking.

I would check to see if Bluetooth is enabled in the settings.

I did advise him that. Then I've read it is a ir remote. I thought rf remote probably. I know bluetooth is off now. So, it is a bluetooth remote? That's the simple solution then.

I think it's a Bluetooth remote, but it might have both IR and BT functionality. A cursory search didn't yield much, if any, information. The RC-15A definitely notes it's a 2.4gHz BT remote in the devices that have that remote, but nothing on the RC-16A.

but nothing on the RC-16A.
IR only.

Thank you for thinking with me on this problem. The remote is a RC-18A. He will try tomorrow with bluetooth on and or a reset.

Thats the answer! Now this old fool remember. I did turn that off to secure unwanted volume with a remote. Muchas gracias!

They updated the firmware to version v1.57. Now, PEQ can automatically switch along with the output channel.

Once again, I would love to know what "several other known issues" entails.

My DX5 II got delivered this morning, perfect timing for the new firmware. Very painless install of the firmware, one of the easiest to use solutions I have seen, simple and does the job and gives you loads of feedback (although doesn't explain what the terms mean :) ) while its doing it and when its done.

So far so good, now to get the PEQ working as I want.

Topping replied again after I wrote them what I wrote in the above post.

Output mode was HPA SE and I have therefore made two videos. One starting in preamp mode and one starting in DAC mode.

However, it does the same in all other HPA and all LO outputs.
I have installed the new firmware and the volume memory bug when switching between preamp and DAC mode has been fixed.
