Topping DX5 II

I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but based on pictures, can anyone venture a guess on how wide the DX5 II will be?
Approximately 20 cm wide and approximately 46 mm high.
Depth, very roughly estimated, approximately 13-14 cm without the knob.

Just watched the Switch 2 video. New DAC/amp has suddenly dropped way down my priorities!

Who knows when this will come out now.... Topping should have put out a notice if they weren't going to release it.
I ordered a D50 III and now I have no use for this product, but I will still follow it.

I couldn't buy a Nintendo product, they don't deserve anyones money anymore. This is coming from someone who was a huge Nintendo fan as a kid.

If it's any consolation, I really like the D50 III. It's a very nice DAC, IMO.

I sent an e-mail inquiring about the release date of the DX5 II. Hopefully they will respond shortly. I will relay any response I get here.

Edit: I got an auto-response saying they were going to be out of office from the 3rd - 6th of April, so I guess I'll get an response after the 6th.

I just was looking for the PEQ on all inputs for my church. But we do have a sound mixer, so I will just do the physical EQ there. I was just thinking about how since there are multiple inputs and mics and stuff, it would have been nice to setup the PEQ in the DAC and just leave it alone for anyone playing anything from the DAC itself.
I guess I can just do that on the PC input now since that is where alot of music and videos are played from.

Weird that they don't have an office with more than one person lol

They won't answer that one. They'll just say "you'll have to wait"

I wonder if Trump's tariffs are having an impact on their release date? Maybe a higher price is currently being considered since it is an imported product?

I'm not political and take no sides, but I have noticed the lack of sales on certain items, both German and Chinese. Heck, Thomann stopped shipping Neumann microphones to the U.S.

I'm tempted to just go with it but the lack of PEQ on SPDIF is a limiting factor for me and it seems like there are a number of small issues with it that make me hesitant, not to mention needing to setup a Windows VM just to configure the PEQ on Mac.

Which, honestly, is the problem here: Mac. All the solutions I've used for PEQ on Mac seem to have issues. eqMac is the least problematic, but once Google Meet calls get involved, I have all sorts of issues with audio delays and cutting out.

Gaming console beats DAC.
Luckily, I skipped that phase in my life... ;)

From the bits about the Switch 2 I've read/heard, I wouldn't be too keen on it myself. Until Nintendo pulls their collective heads out of their rear ends, and release a system that is closer to what the competition releases (from a power/graphic perspective) I won't be buying another NIntendo console. It doesn't mean they have to start making games like Uncharted, Halo, The Last of Us or Gears of War or anything like that - Nintendo can keep doing what they do best - but imagine what they can achieve with their staple franchises with 3-5 times more power under the hood.

Plus from what I've heard, they're charging $10 more for the physical copy of a game when the physical copy is literally just a download key. o_O Not that I have any say on how you spend your hard-earned money, but I would look at things a little closer, and maybe the DX5 II will move up the list based on what you find.

Well as much as the Switch is a disaster, it is a better investment than a DAC especially when SOTA is available for such a low price.... just depends honestly on what you will use.

They would have wanted to import them all before today so they can avoid that. So they must have run into some issue in production...

Best to not use a Mac :)

Yep, Nintendo has been extremely anti-consumer and really not offering anything of value for several years now. I am surprised they have lasted this long with their really poor offerings in the market. That goes doubly now with things like the Steam Deck, Aya Neo, Lenovo Legion, MSI Claw, etc.... you can get a handheld gaming PC that is in every way better.... not even for that much more money (or sometimes for less).
Honestly a DAC/Amp combo is a better investment if you don't have one and are going to use it every day. Just like how I use my audio systems as I work or play on an almost daily basis.

hows the back side. 2 xlr outs with 2 rca so i can pair my active monitors+sub with it? :)

Probably yes, but there probably won't be any further information until the device is officially released. So you'll have to be patient.
