Topping DX5 II

I have to correct my statement. There is probably a software bug. The EQ profile is not saved correctly. However, the power wirh the HE6SE is slightly disappointing. I expected more. There is definitely less power than on the L70. With EQ I have to go all the way to 0dB...
But don't get a wrong impression.
This beauty has a looot of power, and the bass is simply brutal with the HE6SE.
I just listen to very, very loud EDM.

Nevertheless, in my opinion, Topping has created an absolutely sensational product. Especially for the price, it totally degrades the competition!

Part of me wishes I didn't have to wait so long for mine to show up, but it was the choice I had to make

The silver SKU looks amazing!

Black and silver models are now expected July 15th at the earliest on Toppings own website.

Wow... that's a lot for within a week or so for a newly released product. How can a product be QC passed with such bugs/abnormalities.
No wonder no reviews yet!

Just got mine this afternoon. Updated the firmware. I'm sure I will have complaints about little quirks (why can't I delete the default EQ options? Mac app as well, please) but...this is the solution I've wanted for a long time now.

They're going to have an iOS app before they release a MacOS version of Topping Tune, I think.

Yeah, that'd be fine. I think someone's gotten Topping Tune to work via VM as well, but I'm not in the mood to mess with it yet.

Anyone from the US find a better price than $275? That is on Apos after a discount code and cash back.

Anyone in the US receive theirs yet? The order tracking is very opaque. I think mine is with a local carrier now, but until I have it in my hands, I’ll be worried about import duties.

Yeah I got mine today, no import duties.

I have been using Topping Tune via VMWare Fusion on my Mac. Works fine, except for the fact that because my version of Windows 11 is a 64-bit ARM-based system, I cannot install the latest PC drivers (says the system is not supported). I have mentioned this a few times to Topping, but don't expect them to have anything any time soon.

Sometimes you get a letter in the mail from the courier a week later with some kind of fee. Happened a few times for me when ordering something on Amazon -- last thing was the SMSL PL100. It was only around $20 CAD for me, so not too bad.

I'm currently going through the whole dance again with figuring out how to get DSD files playing in bit-perfect mode.

I think I've managed to get it working through ASIO in Foobar2000 though it is significantly louder than my FLAC files.
No dice yet in Musicbee but I'll double check tomorrow morning on my other PC that works perfectly with the Topping E50.

Iam interested to buy the dx5 ii... Does it has any serious issues that haven't been solved yet with last updates?

The DX5 II was only just released on the 10th of June, but there has been a FW update that fixes some issues:

Would the DX5 II offer a noticeable boost to a <$500 closed back in an office desktop setup?

Looking at combining this with an HD 620S or Focal Azurys.

Glad to say after updating the firmware it sounds the same as the D50 III.
Apple music sometimes changes sample rate mid-song depending on the wi-fi connection at home at least on iOS. So it seems pre update it didn't do well with that.
Disappointed I've got no good reason to try a blind test now.

Great. D50 III got tons of firmware fixes as well. Hope more bugs are sorted out if they exist
