i think it’s fine. XLR outputs only have 1.3uV noise so won’t cause issues. In this case higher output voltage is better. They skipped 4v mode :/

I often point this out but..here it goes again. Not all gear want 5v:ish voltage input. It'll clip.i think it’s fine. XLR outputs only have 1.3uV noise so won’t cause issues. In this case higher output voltage is better.
Just turn down the volume. It’s very simple. You shouldn’t listen that loud either. On the other hand, studio equipments(such as studio monitors) usually require higher output.I often point this out but..here it goes again. Not all gear want 5v:ish voltage input. It'll clip.
It's not loud, you set the volume with the amplifier. The DAC performs the best the higher it goes. The problem as usual is that the buyer can't exactly know how much to turn down the volume to get to 4v max. Which I need for TP RA3 for instance.Just turn down the volume. It’s very simple. Properly designed input will have diodes to clamp the voltage so it won’t damage the equipment.
You know exactly how much to turn down. Just do the math. (How much dbs between 4 and 5 volts). Some websites have online calculator. It's not loud, you set the volume with the amplifier. Only actives directly. Passives need the DAC to be connected to an amplifier.Hey folks,
I read all the 24 pages and ordered the WHITE box yesterday through their own shop. I am very excited about this device tbh.
Now my question: when I read the manual correctly, I have the option to either connect a pair of active speakers or a pair of passive speakers through XLR, right?
Thank you for clarifying!Only actives directly. Passives need the DAC to be connected to an amplifier.

Mine, also ordered directly from Topping, hasn't shipped yet either.Topping is taking its time with shipping, though. Apparently, the package still isn't on its way...
I ordered from Shenzen on the 10th in the evening UTC+8, they said they had only received a very small allotment from the factory and were expecting my order to ship late July.M

Has anyone got a shipping notification yet?
Any US customers concerned about getting hammered for import taxes?
mine should go out tomorrowM

I got the same response from them, ordered it like 5 hours after it went live i thinkI ordered from Shenzen on the 10th in the evening UTC+8, they said they had only received a very small allotment from the factory and were expecting my order to ship late July.

I think all DACs that have volume control operate this way.Does the DX5 II do its volume control digitally so that you maintain perfect channel balance all throughout the range? (like the RME ADI-2 DAC FS)
My order got processed and charged a few hours afterwards, i thought it meant that they would ship it directly after. But guess i was wrongDoes Shenzhen charge your credit card at checkout or do they only charge your card when it is shipped (like Amazon, for instance)? That would determine, for me, whether to just order one right now or sometime in the next two weeks.
Hmm... Yah, I love my ADI-2 DAC FS + DCA E3 but I'd like to get a smaller DAC + amp for use on a small table next to my sofa. Not all: the RME ADI-2 DAC has a hybrid gain + digital attenuation that maximizes SINAD through all volume levels. An amazing feature.
