Topping DX5 II

What FW are you on?

I wouldn't worry about the 4.4mm connection if you've been using it the whole time with no issues. Some of those reports are legitimate, but some could possibly be attributed to user error (i.e. as it was in my case, I hadn't fully seated the connector the very first time I plugged in my headphones into that jack -- and some of the issues described were exactly what I had experienced with the connection not being 100% seated).
I Think it was the 1.78 but in the past i have the same issues when i was plaing hollow knight so i try to upgrade the fw in that situation... Should i do the upgrade?
I add that i try to close the topping tune app on Windows after that issues and the problems looks like fixed but maybe it can also be a coincidence

You should always update the FW as there are issues in v1.78 that have long-since been resolved. v2.14 is the latest FW version.

Isn't $299 the normal price? I got mine direct from Topping for $284.05 with the 5% off first order on their site. (Plus $5 shipping) Not a huge discount, but a discount none the less.

They removed -15% for both DX5 II and DX1 II

It's showing the same price that I paid for it June last year.
There's an ongoing sales going on.. so I checked some products. It's not the first time they first give -15% off DX5 II and then remove it quickly.

Plenty of other Topping prices are now -15% though, as well as other brands

On the bright side the card details weren't there!
Nice catch, hahahahaha. I'm not that dumb, damn it xD. It's just my shopping email; my banking apps are linked to a different email address. They won't be able to do much with the data they had, lol.

Except your full name, and address can definitely do a lot...

Yeah, if it weren't for the fact that everything goes through two-factor authentication these days, with a notification on your phone to approve any bank transactions xD. Same whit crypto wallets

Other than that, if you guys want to come DJ some techno tracks, you're more than welcome xD

Nah, it wouldn't be good business... For them, anyway xDDD. Personally, I live in a pretty expensive area, with a trained AmericanStaffor, and we have guns at home (having a brother and a father who are hunters has its perks xD). And I'm not a hunter and I don't have a license, but I know how to use them too—it's not a good idea to come here, lol. Better if they come to play some techno tracks in my CDj 3000

I got few times already the following message:
FFT module abnormal

So far, rebooting the DAC fixed it, but should I get worried?
On Topping website they advice to disconnect other devices and reboot. If the problem still persists, your unit may be defective. Please contact the store where you purchased.

The only change to my setup recently was to attach a raspberry to it, by a usb to toslink converter, which allow raspberry to have a toslink output.
The usb input on the DX II has been attached to a Mac mini, while RCA output to Ruarkaudio desktop speakers.

I had this error once, happened to me like 3-4 weeks ago.
Havent seen it since then and never before. And I'm using DX5 II as my daily device (almost constant 8h of use per day) since it was avialable on https://shenzhenaudio.com/
So... keeping my fingers crossed that it's nothing serious ;)

I am getting this error occasionally as well. Only happened since I upgraded the firmware from 1.68 to 2.14. I am thinking of retrograding the firmware back since I had nearly a year without issue before updating.

Official reply from shenzhenaudio.com:
"Please try these steps: 1. Check if the PEQ function is enabled and review your preamp gain settings. 2. Test with a different pair of headphones to ensure the issue isn't with the jack. 3. Restore the device to factory settings. 4. Update the firmware to the latest version (v2.14) via our website."
I have the latest firmware already, and the issue was with PEQ off and RCA output (not headphones). Nevertheless it inspired me to try to lower to 90% instead of 100% the volume of the USB-toslink converter and... so far all good!
