If you're looking for something cheap, assuming you don't have ridiculously power hungry headphones, I actually used the Fiio KA17 THX for a while and found it very handy. It has built in PEQ via the Android/iOS app as well.any alternatives to DX5 ? because there arent any in my country
If you set it to select an individual outputs, you can assign a preset EQ curve that will be associated with each output. For example I use single ended with my IEM curve and balanced with my headphone curve. Can you lock an EQ preset to a specific output, like headphone out?
As this is placebo anyway, I dare to say that the DX5 II sound 100% better.Yeah the topping probably sounds 70-80% as good as the RME. Specs on paper are fine but you can't fake it. Less dynamics and the bass and treble control is awesome on the adi2.
Also whatever PC sound card they crammed into my unit seems to use a full size TOSLINK socket and not the mini 3.5mm version. As this is placebo anyway, I dare to say that the DX5 II sound 100% better.![]()

Not yetDoes the Topping Home Android app support the DX5 II yet? Thinking of using that if I am going to permanently switch to Linux.
Why do you need that app, just wonderingDoes the Topping Home Android app support the DX5 II yet? Thinking of using that if I am going to permanently switch to Linux.

Can you set it up on the PC then leave it at that?
What when you rotate through many new headphones. Can you set it up on the PC then leave it at that?
A good setup should sound good with flat EQ.
