Topping DX5 II

How soon after something goes on sale, does amir do a review? Topping usually sends him gear to review?

Sometimes he reviews before release, but his backlog must be quite enormous so might have to wait..not possible to test everything either

I don't think many of you have owned a DX5, it has the nicest green screen for instance
I agree, and it is slimmer, so it can go under my 43 inch gaming monitor. The new version looks much thicker.
If it wasn't a well-selling device, Topping wouldn't have released the Lite version or a successor to the DX5.
Both of these are only done for devices that are already successful.

Is it confirmed there would be a remote with it?

It looks very much like there's a window for an IR sensor to the left of the display...

Hopefully, my nice Topping RC-21 remote will work with it!

According to the instructions, the remote control is included:

Yes, i'd noticed that as well. I'd still like to use my RC-21 as it feels a lot nicer than the plastic remotes that come with the Topping devices (unless you buy the DX9 which comes with the newer RC22 remote)

Will be sold from June.

Did they give any indication as to when in June they're making this available to purchase?

Alas, Topping remains as talkative as a sphinx with a head cold — but let us take heart: June graciously offers thirty distinct opportunities to hope for a release.

:p

The silence is deafening on this product release!

Does anyone know if Topping are still pimping MQA or will it be absent on the DX5 II?

I'm pretty sure they have dropped MQA support for their newer devices. The MQA logo doesn't appear in any of the product pages outside of the few older DACs that support it (the E50, for example, has the logo)

Why should that even matter?
MQA didn't achieve anything, there's hardly any MQA material available anymore, no new MQA material has been produced for over a year, and most of the old material has been deleted by the providers.
R.I.P.

EDIT: I keep getting notifications that there has been a new response to this thread, but there are no new posts. The last notification was @Delmont saying that the DX5 product page is no longer there (I just visited the Topping site, and it's still there on my end, fyi).

Topping really needs to get this thing on the market because the Mac software EQ solutions do not work well with my computer for whatever reason

eqMac has worked well for me. I have not heard a difference between that, and the PEQ implemented with Topping Tune. I had to disable the PEQ on the DAC, though because I noticed that it pops/ticks three times when audio has stopped (i.e. pausing music or a system sound plays) -- so within a second of pausing, it'll go "tick ... tick tick". No such thing happens when I have eqMac active. Plus, it's annoying to have to run a VM in order to apply any PEQ from Topping Tune on Mac right now.

Yeah, eqMac is the one piece of software that works for me and even then I have to restart the audio engine more often than I'd like. My issue really is that SoundSource and Sound Control both just absolutely DO NOT work well with web browsers, especially when I'm on Google Meet calls.
