Topping DX5 II

Comparing the DX5 II to the MDA1 completely misses the mark: 7.6W output power, 0.00006% THD+N, and full PEQ support on all inputs make it a precision-engineered device. Let’s stop pretending they’re on equal footing.
Those numbers weren’t released until a week ago guy. It’s easy to comeback a couple of months later to scrutinized a post after new detail information is released. At the time we only knew it was a DAC/Headphone amp utilizing dual 9039Q2M chips, “similar” hardware. Btw, welcome to the forum.

That's not true; these basic performance data have been known since the introduction and the first post. You can check it out for yourself on the first page of this thread or on Facebook.

I emailed Topping about the release date for this, as I'm looking for a dac at the minute. Today they replied and said it will be announced within three months. So it'll be a while yet.

Last week, Topping confirmed that the DX5 II would be released this month, and now it's been three months?
Oh well

Topping’s after-sales support also informed me of a three-month delay. However, the sales department confirmed twice that the release was scheduled for this month. Which one to believe, when one proceeds with caution while the other makes confident promises?

They said within the next three months, so could be a month. Hard to know tbh. Here's the reply I got today.

"Regarding the DX5 II that you’re interested in, we are currently in the final stages of preparation, aiming to present it in the most refined and stable condition. The official release date is expected to be announced within the next three months. At that time, we will share the news promptly via our official website and major platforms."

I will ask them at the Munich High-End next weekend, if they will be there. I live in Munich and plan to visit the faire

Honestly, this reinforces my opinion of Topping's development over the past three years. They're now very committed to bringing perfectly functioning devices to market.

I am always for delaying the release but getting it right the 1st time, rather than selling first and fix issues later leaving customers angry and bad brand reputation.

I really hope the DX5ii won’t take too long to be released, because the Luxsin X9 is fast approaching, and I’m afraid the temptation might become hard to resist.

Hopefully the information received from the Sales department that it is being released this month is accurate.

At this rate I assume I'll be playing GTA6 before this thing comes out.
That's really a ridiculous exaggeration.
The DX5 II was only revealed at the end of February, and I'm sure it'll be released this summer.
Bets are already being taken for GTA 6 to be released in 2027 ;).

I'd buy it if it had more inputs. This is where the SMSL raw mda1 wins..

Thanks @poopy
Just to be sure: will the device be sold starting from June, or in June we will know the release date and this can then be much later?
Thanks
