Topping DX3 Pro+ Review (DAC & Headphone Amp)

The BT on/off setting is only missing if you switch through the options inside the settings menu using the remote (+/- buttons, </> to change the setting). When using the volume wheel to switch through the options, the BT on/off setting is there.

Yes ,but only to show the BT status. You can't change the status via remote. Only via hidden menu.

I think it's a good way to have it in a hidden menu. Most consumers will only turn it off once and this way they can't accidentally turn it on.

Strange, i had BT on for 2 years (didn't know about the option until now). I could turn it off without problems with the newest firmware.

I guess it will effect my standby power consumption a bit and the unit will stay cooler now. Annoying that i didn't know about this option earlier...
You don't have to thank me;)

Not sure what you mean, everything I'm talking about is *inside* the hidden menu.
Once I've switched to the BT on/off setting in the hidden menu by using the volume wheel, I can actually change the setting with the remote (</> buttons).
It's only when I use the remote to switch through the options in the hidden menu (+/> buttons) that the BT option doesn't show up.

I'm very glad about the hidden menu. With an accidental switch of the output mode from amp (volume control) to dac (full volume), my power amp could easily blow my speakers.

But if BT on/off in the hidden menu has no effect than something is wrong with your unit. It works with v1.28 on my device.

Status is only fixed in the normal menu via < >

Would be really interessting to measure if it will lower power consumption in standby mode from high 2.5w.

I can, when it shows up.

Ok but Topping *did* enable remote control inside the menu, what's the logic of omitting one of the options?
Accidental changes should be prevented by the cumbersome way to enter the menu and the option that's omitted isn't especially critical (that, if anything, would be 5.).
The point of hidden settings such as Bluetooth settings is that they can only be adjusted using the volume wheel. And you won't be able to activate them using the remote control.

Yes, he can do everything, he’s just ashamed to admit that he didn’t understand or forgot how to get into the menu without a remote control:D

That's achieved with the cumbersome way of entering the menu. Once in the menu, the remote works to switch through the menu items (+/-) and change the settings (</>).

And if he knew how to get to this menu, but for some reason he used the remote control to switch settings, but didn’t think of using the volume wheel, then this is just strange:rolleyes:

I'm just about finished with being polite to you... You need to work on your reading comprehension.

If you have lost your remote control, this is the only way to get to this menu. If you have entered this menu, which is not easy, then you do not need the remote control. The remote control is needed when you are lying on the sofa and the DAC is far from you.

And you could have just thanked me for the tip, instead of telling me all sorts of nonsense:rolleyes:
@Kaktus_Kontrafaktus @LongKick64

Seems like this little exchange has run its course. Would suggest you both park it as the actual point at hand (enabling/ disabling BT) has been answered.

Be nice please. Thanks .

Done. BT on/off doesn't make a difference, same power draw.

So i didn't really miss anything while not knowing how to turn it off. The device has the same temps as before, too.

The sensitivity of the protection circuit didn't change neither.

No one has a clue what the update actually did ^^
