Thanks, so for now it looks random, or at least, there's some trigger that's still unknown that may only affect specific systems.That’s the million dollar question nobody can answer but Topping. Some of us have had big problems with more than one DX1 II unit, others report no problem at all.
This issue is fixed for every single person that reported having it here, use the latest firmware.I don't quite understand the 48khz problem. Say I'm hooking the dx1 ii to a TV via optical in. I'm assuming that will probably be a PCM 48khz stream from the TV? And will I start encountering static noise if I watch/listen to content for some time, say after an hour? Are all units affected, or random units? Or only specific firmware?

Since the DX1 II's PEQ applies globally, is there a way to make it reduce low frequencies on the 4.4mm output while leaving the RCA output untouched? Otherwise, if I use the PEQ to cut the low frequencies for the main speakers, it will also cut them for the subwoofer, which defeats the purpose. How do you handle this?
Well I definitely recommend updating the firmware now, it will not only most likely eradicate bugs you describe, but also add extra functionality to the device. The "cascading bugs" you refer to, as far as I can tell, were always there to begin with, or some added post-updates, but as a user since day one, I can safely recommend the latest version now.I ran into my first instance of popping noises, it was connected to an xDuuo MT-604 via a Balanced to dual XLR via the Line-Out. It seemed to be fairly random and alternates between left and right ear.
Toggling the Topping on and off via the remote have solved it, so the cause could’ve been something else.
Worth noting is that this is basically a launch week unit and it is still on stock firmware, since I never saw a need to update and deal with cascading bugs.

I have a Windows VM for other things. I do the firmware update there.Been avoiding it because Linux.
Setting up a udev rule for it wasn’t enough so I just updated it on a Mac instead.
