Vestri is a dongle - there are many dongles with balanced outputs, among which Vestri is neither special nor of good value. But DX1 II has much more current output for the headphone outputs, while, importantly, has balanced preamp outputs in the back, which are lacking in most other offerings in the similar price range. The Schiit Vestri also has a balanced output at similar price point so the DX1 isn't the only one.
Less features and inputs though, and the touch controls are annoying, although it also lacks the DX1's odd quirks.
I think it's the built in PEQ at this price point that makes the DX1 ii special, personally.
