Was looking around in the task manager (Win 11) and noticed this and that is did not have a driver. What is this? Can't be a device. The D70 shows up as well and has a driver.

Thanks. I was digging around trying to eliminate static. I'm having trouble eliminating static when using Audirvana on this new PC. I've tried several things suggested by others-turning off USB power, etc but it still persists. The static is intermittent and random but persistent but only when using Audirvana. Any clues? This is irritating as this didn't occur on my older PC.

Make sure you're using either Wasapi Exclusive or ASIO output in Audirvana.
Also try different USB ports on your PC. Ideally a USB 2.0 port directly on the motherboard's IO.

How do I know which USB port connects directly to the motherboard? I have tried kernel streaming, Wasapi and ASIO on the Audirvana menu. Is there another menu I need to access?

What kind of PC do you have? Traditional tower PC, or a NUC?
Do you know the model name of your motherboard?

You mentioned using a 2.0 vs 3.0 port. I thought 3.0 was "better"?

If it's only in Audirvana it sounds like a software problem in Audirvana. From googling: "Can you go in our audio output settings in Audirvāna Studio and enable the option to not send RAW PCM stream?"

So I Googled "static on Audirvana" and this led me to your link. There are many posts on the Audirvana forum complaining of this static issue but no one has a solution except to upsample everything. Well, guess what-I upsampled to 768 kHz and the static is gone. Bizarre because there was no static on the old settings on my old PC.

How does one determine which ports support 2.0 vs 3.0?

Better use USB 2.0 for audio files, USB 3.0 has more noise.
Is this the case for USB 2.0 devices connected to USB 3.0 ports? As I understand it, the USB 3.0 noise is related to the higher bandwidth of USB 3.0.
