TOPPING D90 model history?

Hello all,
I am about to look for a used TOPPING D90 to upgrade my system.
I already learned about the different models DAC-chips from SOP til now.
Today I was offered a 2 year old D90 with MQA (not D90SE) purchased in January2021.
The guy I talked with told me that the manual states that there is an ESS-chip inside..not the expected AKM-chip

I wonder if this might be true...pls find attached the serial number of that device.

Anybody out there to confirm if that could be??

Hi Peter, I have only the non-MQA version of the original D90. Just looked into the manual: it doesn't even say which DAC chip is used! To my knowledge, the MQA version also uses AK4499.

The original D90 MQA used AK4499 chip.

Starting with D90SE and D90LE they used ESS chips.
