TOPPING D90 III、TOPPING D50 III

MQA was built into the ESS chips and some people wrongly buy a DAC if it has MQA, so Topping is again playing it safe by supporting it.

No bass management and subwoofer out?
I was wondering what the XLR+RCA output mode does.
If I use it with a computer source, can I send the low frequency signal from Dirac to 2 of these outputs (e.g. XLR to power amp, RCA to active subs)?

It's not 2in/4-out.
It's more like 2-in/2+2-out.
So no.

A rather conservative launch with better and better numbers while keeping much needed extra functionality missing one again.

I am at a bit of a loss. Almost every speaker review you read - “It probably needs a sub.”

The new WiiM Amp, sub out with bass management.

If Topping released a DAC with sub out and bass management, I’d buy that and a PA5 - no questions asked.

In term of measurements, it's better. The RME is not the champion of measurements.

In term of functions, reliability, customers service, I guess the RME is largely better.
Does it measure better Becaue it has 2 DAC chips vs the RME that has only one ?

No. Topping is winning, like other few Chinese brands, the race to the measurements. This is how they gain their legitimacy.

RME is not in this race, the product is really different.

I'm talking about SQ only ;)

I have a DAC with MQA. So why does it matter when I don't even use it? And although MQA is not for example lossless it should be closer to the original than what any speaker can reproduce

I've mentioned it before, but imo topping is targeting the desktop market first. I also think they are slowly branching out (E2X2) into the professional realm of desktop users (audio and video editors).

Professionals predominantly use active monitors, and a lot of them are designed to be paired with a specific sub.

For example Adam T5V & T10S. You feed the left and right signal into the sub first and then the speakers. The sub has a dedicated switch to set crossover.

Neumann KH 120 IIs & KH 750 DSP is the same way, just at a much higher price point.

I hear ya!

But a digital crossover and sub out socket would add very little indeed to the price, and would be very useful to a significant minority.

I think the biggest hit would be form factor. An additional RCA & XLR, is going to add something like 15-18% to the width of the unit.
