Which you cannot hear.
Definitely. But that doesn't make it right. And I can't hear this either:

Have a blessed Christmas one and all !!

Yes, that's right. But pre-ringing is a corruption, too.
A very silly audiophile hobby horse, this. There will be essentially zero pre ringing (never mind how good your ability to hear transient bits of 22khz is) in properly mastered material. If it’s there, the material is already “corrupted” - if it’s constantly clipping or something, you’ve got bigger problems. Unfiltered NOS will have audible HF rolloff and copious ultrasonic garbage in *any* material with full audio bandwidth, because it’s not reconstructing the signal properly.

Fully agree. I find the recent "audiophile" bashing on ASR a bit much these days.
Scientifically lamp cord works fine as a power cord, and I choose to buy Belden power cable, it's like so what?
Or, cheap monoprice XLR cable works just fine, and I choose to buy Mogami cable with Neutrik ends, so what?
If people wanna buy R2R DAC and enjoy the harmonic spikes, so what?
This Topping R2R DAC is really well engineered, IMHO.
I find some of the posts these days can be quite judgemental, or dismissive, or condescending.
Just saying ...
Sadly some people are so lonely and miserable, it often leads them to be overly concerned with what others are able to enjoy .

And some people just want to discuss facts and not fiction. Go figure!
Fact is both R2R and Delta Sigma Dacs are both enjoyable and most likely sound very similar when implementation is on point . Enjoy your obsession with being disgusted and consumed with others audio preferences. Some of us actually just listen to music and yes that also includes critical listening. But yeah , GO OFF !

Disgusted? Who said I am? As I said earlier in the thread, I own a number of R2R DACs, have listened and tested all of them, and... *gasp* enjoyed all of them. What's the problem you and @boxerfan88 are trying to address? Most here don't care what you (or I) prefer, since that's your personal preference that can't be replicated, duplicated or verified. I like coffee ice cream. Should I demand that everyone give me respect because I do and that everyone should agree with me or else they are bashing my preferences?

Don’t you think ASR would be a nicer forum if less or no people bash others for liking coffee ice cream?

That’s what I am trying to get at. And got bashed as well. Really sad state.

Merry Christmas!!

ps: I also like coffee ice cream, with added nuts, and maybe some Baileys on top.

Coffee ice cream has a distinct taste that's different from other flavours. I think this is where the analogy breaks down...

  • Spray of "R2R effects" harmonics can be seen in the charts.
  • Maybe these harmonics gives the "analog" "warm" feel - like ToTape8 effects VST.

Nearly 90dB down from the main tone. Highly doubtful that this is enough to give the output anything resembling a characteristic.
