And the higher gain of 22dB is more than enough to drive the amp to clipping with the typical 4V out of a balanced DAC. Even with 2V out you can get it to within 1dB of clipping.
Thank you, nice to know, that with higher gain of 22dB and 2V input that the B200 is still 1dB of clipping. Clipping is not a good to occur, especially for Speakers, is it?

...a quick question.

Does the Topping B200 monoblock have a balanced output stage?

Depends on your metric, yeah?

For some, it is literally just the SINAD or THD+N.

For others, there are other factors at play, clearly.

Hi Ed,
yes, there are now many established hi-fi companies that use Purifi modules and sell them very expensively because they complement beautiful VU meters and / or brand emblems.
In my opinion, this is also a sign that even established “high-end” companies cannot realize better circuits themselves.
I don't think there are currently any better amplifiers on the market than the Purifi with the corresponding power supply units.

Without wanting to discredit Topping, I tend to use a diagram like this (this is for Phones) for my internal evaluation that would show absolute peak values for SINAD with Topping, but would be in the middle range for load stability and absolute power.

I think Purifi would achieve top values in almost all areas.

that would show absolute peak values for SINAD with Topping
Wouldn't it be better to determine this on several complex loads to better understand the amplifier behavior?

We may not have the same needs. I have 2 LA90 toppings, 4 LA90D and an AUDIOPHONICS HTA400ET, 4 ways.

I had acquired the AUDIOPHONICS for the 4 x 12 inch low mid amplification.

A little before the purchase of the first LA90 for another use. And surprise, I quickly invested in a second LA90. I was planning to buy at least 1 pair more for the mid and high voices. But the LA90 was already replaced by its discreet entry stage version.

However, I kept the pair of LA90s for the initial use and bought 4 more LA90Ds for the mid and high ranges.

I am selling the AUDIOPHONICS and 2 x NUPRIMES STA-9 to finance 2 pairs of LA90D for my 12 inches, or B200 for the mid and treble channels (active filtering).

Certainly the PURIFIS are very good class D but I don't like at all the listening in the high end of the class D spectrum, except for those with TDA chip equipped with an audio processor and a digital source (Airpulse 80 or AVR Marantz)

Listening to an analog source through a class D even with audiophonics remains tiring and the highs lack dynamics, seem recessed, or on the opposite side are strident and therefore distorted (case of the STA-9 nuprime).

However, I thought that the D-class would be the future, so I didn't have any negative preconceptions.

I may have tested for a long time on different speakers, always the same personal conclusion. It is therefore not their cleanliness that would be the cause.

What do you mean by this? It is a bridged output...meaning both + and - speaker connections are driven...do not ground either output.

These are XLR preamp or monitor outputs.
To my knowledge, I have never seen them on power amps

Edit : I have a question about your system. Is it a stereo active multi-amp or a home theater system? If it's a stereo system, which channels are the B200s designed for?

You talkin' to me?

Wow.....just wow
I'm hoping it was just a badly judged movie quote. But if that had been directed at me I'd be using the report button.

Microsoft's translation is indeed explicit. But Google Translate is less definitive about the meaning.
However, I think "WOW" should be understood as "Don't get carried away."

Reading Babadono's response to Tomchris, it seemed clear to me that there was a problem with the understanding/translation of Tomchris's question. Matt Holland had answered Tomchris accurately. I was simply adding a question to Babadono about these amplification choices (LA90D-B200; it must be said that this thread is seriously lagging behind).

"Wow" is an expression of shock or amazement. He was expressing amazement and or shock at the crass nature of your post.

Some people were quick to hit the report button to report me.
I feel the choice of quotes was ill-advised, no matter what the intention. From the outside looking in, the quote appears at-best to be a lapse in judgement, and at worst, an attack on a member of the forum. Best not to use such provocative of word use, joking or not. Given the lack of available, contextual facial expressions a face-to-face interaction might have indicated of your intentions, comments of this nature are bound to be taken badly in an internet forum.
