Have you tried using it with that Extension from Topping? That's a very attractive capability.. although the Nobusound is only $65 in the US.

No I didnt, I have paired it with D70 Pro Octo and happy times, have all I need, engaging, transparent and powerful sound. I dont have need for ext.

I have one pair with D70Pro!
It works flawlessly and can be controlled by remote is a plus if compare with passive switch like Nobusound as you mentioned.

I use the Nobsound MC3 with the A70Pro and my SPL Phonitor XE on my computer desk and it is an absolute joy/

Alas, my A70 Pro suddenly started clicking -- really sounded like it was switching input source for a small fraction of a second -- every 5 seconds or so. That was in PRE output mode. Switching to HPA or HPA+PRE modes made the problem go away for a few days. I emailed Apos and Topping, and Topping suggested I try updating the firmware. I tried that using a Mac laptop -- the A70 display screen showed FW V1.1 was installed, but the disc did not mount. I tried again with a different Mac and a PC, neither of them even got the screen to show, and the disc did not mount. Powering up the unit again, it suddenly froze up with "HPA DC Abnormal" on the screen. Disconnecting and reconnecting, same thing. So, Apos will be sending me a return ticket...

I've had the A70 since May 2023, and it has been great. I'm not looking to change, provided I can get this now defective unit repaired or replaced. Hopefully that won't take too long, but Apos does say they are understaffed...

I'll update when it is all resolved.

Such a shame about the reliability issues for the A70 Pro since it's pretty much in a league of its own, other than the L70. I guess no one should expect theirs to last very long.

My recommendation for anything Topping is to wait 6 months after product launch.

I just got my A70Pro now, incredible device.

I bought an A70 Pro a week ago. My first headphone amp for my first turntable. It crapped out within two days. HP DC abnormal. No fix. I'm getting a replacement but this is absolutely inexcusable, ESPECIALLY if these machines are capable of taking out your headphones as well. I'll never be touching anything Topping again after this. It's a stupid amount of money to pay for something so damaging. If I wasn't already getting a replacement, I would find something else entirely. I'm not going to be happy if it happens again.
I don't know how old my model was. It was only in the store for a week before it fell into my hands.

On head-fi forum I read someone suffered hearing and headphone damage with a Chord DAC/amp , so unfortunate things can always happen no matter price, origin , company reputation etc.

On head-fi forum I read someone suffered hearing and headphone damage with a Chord DAC/amp , so unfortunate things can always happen no matter price, origin , company reputation etc.

Same crapout as everyone else it seems. HP DC abnormal. I got my entire setup curated by an audio specialist. "Taking out" means destroying. It happened while on, yes. Connected to a turntable during music playback.

Last week I received a Topping A70pro from audiophonic.fr, installed firmware 2.01, after connecting the XLR to the amplifier hypex NC502mp manufacturer https://www.rougeaudiodesign.com/ when switching the input and when muting, there was a crack in both speakers, I also tried completely disconnecting the shielding and other connection options as described in previous posts, it always crackles, the rest works perfectly because I don't switch the inputs, I only have one aune x8 source with opa sparkos, but the mute makes me angry because the sound is wonderful compared to the direct connection of the dac to the amplifier, I also have a second amplifier schiit vidar RCA connection with this connection no crackling and everything is as quiet as a church. I almost forgot, it behaves the same even after updating to 2.02
