Topping A70 Pro HP popping sound occurs when adjusting the volume knob

Hello everyone, I'm new here.
My Topping A70 Pro headphone amplifier produces a popping sound when adjusting the volume knob; I’d like to know if anyone else has experienced this same issue. When I contacted Topping, I was told that this is normal behavior and cannot be fixed. This is unacceptable. Does anyone have any good solutions for this?

A faint mechanical clicking while adjusting the volume is normal for R2R stepped volume control. You get perfect channel matching, but clicking is the downside.

However, if you mean a clearly audible or loud pop through the headphones, that might not be normal.

Spraying some Servisol S1 switch cleaner/lube on the switch contacts may help a bit.

It isn't the ticking sound of a relay actuating; it is a popping sound heard through the headphones. Topping's engineers have confirmed this as well.

In that case, your options are either to return it, if you still can, or set the A70 Pro to a fixed volume and control the level digitally upstream through your DAC or media player.

Yes, I requested a return. Topping’s technical support initially agreed to it but then reneged the next day. They even cut off phone contact; previously, an engineer would answer when calling 020-37219489, but now you need an extension number to get through. Dealing with Topping has become like a "blind box" game—you have to guess who to contact.
