Good morning. I am waiting for the topping d90se and I wanted to connect it to a headphone amplifier.
I'm thinking about the topping A30Pro and the topping A90.
What is your opinion???

That the A90 will look and stack better with the D90. In addition to be a good preamp if needed...

Both will sound the same at the end. I see no headphones around that would need the 5.5W out of the A30Pro.
I have hd 650 and Genelec 8330 and 7350.
This is my sound system.

I own both and to my ears both sound the same. The A90 is fed vía balanced by the MA X-SABRE 3 and the A30Pro via balanced by the MA mini-i Pro 3. If you are planning on driving your headphones via balanced out, then get the A90. Otherwise the A30Pro would give you more power.

Personally I would go for the A90 just because my adhd would kick into sixth gear when the stack doesn't match ;)

Other than that the only thing the A90 really differs from the A30Pro is the pre-amp functionality. A30pro has more SE power than the A90 and only 20% on average lower on BAL. Will be a real rare edge case if that last 20% is going to make a meaningful difference.

In my opinion the A30Pro is the better (and cheaper) allrounder as long as you don't want/need pre-amp.

and my genelec speakers that output xlr that I will connect ???

You connect analog out left and right channel from your DAC to your Genelec 7350A subwoofer. The 8330A is then connected to the 7350A.

Setup is described in the 7350A manual

To make use of all the features of your Genelecs, including room calibration, you need to buy the GLM Kit. Highly recommended. You don’t need to have the kit connected after calibration.

You have to connect the D90SE to the A30 Pro via XLR and the A30 Pro via TRS>XLR to your speakers.

Have you even checked the A30 Pro's spec sheet?

Edit: The D90SE does not have AES output.

Ah, the D90SE has AES output (from inspecting the back of it in the review) so you can use that to connect the 7350 and then to one 8330, and from that 8330 to the other 8330. Using the digital input/output.

I assume that the d90se can adjust the volume digitally or you’ll have to get the GLM Kit to do so (a bummer if so).

So fine. I will connect the d90se to the A30pro via XLR and my speakers on the D90se via the AES / EBU port.
Thanks very much.

I think I’m wrong about s90se having AES output, it only has digital devices to input.

Even if the D90SE had that digital output, using it would mean the DAC in the speakers would be doing the work, rendering the D90SE completely pointless.

Best way is what I suggested: D90 > XLR > A30 Pro > TRS to XLR > 7350 > XLR > 8330. The D90SE would handle the volume control.
