Tom Danley’s new ‘Hyperion’

Sorry it is a bit gloomy here, just had to implement a couple of filters as bass is adequate!

Just a quick in room 1/6th smoothing there is no acoustic treatment in this room, 39.5Hz I brought down a bit plenty of output at 20Hz.
Keith
If I'm reading it correctly - that's 110dB scale and that bass is 10-20db above average spl?

Inside of the horn,

REW recommended two filters at 39.5 and 20Hz with a minus gain of around 9dB .
Keith

Yes they just need to be made from honeycomb aluminium and have graphene drivers,
Continuing the austere, back panel with poweron connector.

Keith

Definitely from the 'better heard than seen' school of loudspeaker design.

Put them behind a sheer curtain, tapestry, please. Those ugly black things look like the type of speakers someone scavenged out of the skip from a nightclub that was being demolished.
Now I know why blind listening tests are recommended!

They can/do/will have nicer finishes. Here's another user's SM60's:

@Purité Audio I looked up RAM Audio. It seems like their DSP units have fans built in: https://ramaudio.com/products/dsp_powerpack-modules/ Do you hear any fans while these are on? Can you see one through the circular grill on the back?

And do you hear any hiss coming from the speaker? (Still a big problem with most active speakers.)

No hiss, I will have a look to the fan tomorrow.
Keith

Thing is with this driver layout you could tart up the physical design in a whole host of ways.

Wow, sanded AND lacquered marine ply, complete with putty over the staple holes! That 'foldback style' speaker looks hideously amatuerish, let's be honest.

A more 'realistic' and interesting model
Not much to talk about...

This looks to be a hyper-realistic transducer set that would be excellent for single men.

Seriously, looks to be an audio tour de force, but not one that I could put into my home. Would love to hear them, though.

Danley next to Mesanovic.

Keith

Look what that charming Iain Mackie ( and two colleagues) of Danley Dound Distribution just dropped off,

Keith
I think I prefer the regular box to the website version. Just needs a really big room.

As for finishes, maybe macho and femme versions: a road case look complete with those chrome and rubber corner bumpers, and a Louis Vuitton.

What are the messanovic's compared to the kii3 and d&d Keith?
They are good Simon, they lack the cardioid and peq/dsp but they are super, just need to implement any filters in Roon/ RME.
