Tidal, Disney+ Multichannel (Dolby Atmos/5.1) for HTPC/Pro Audio system with Apple TV + AVR?

It seems normal that payback stops on source change. The ATV needs to renegotiate resolution, bitdepth, frame timing, etc, of the new source. This takes up to a few seconds, so to not have you skip that it pauses the content.

The source of the ATV doesn't change. The ATV is connected to the AVR and plays music, the AVR is connected to the monitor. I change the source on the monitor because i want to see a different picture. ATV does not have to change a thing.

CEC is off, but maybe i play around with other settings, like HDMI audio passthrough. It probably is a bug, though.

This was my experience, too. I couldn't find any way to run appletv playback reliably without a monitor always attached and active on AVR. One of many reasons I gave up on it in my primary listening space (office), especially after discovering BACCH.
