jaws from universal pictures after my strict THX know what to look for listen for feel for this is lazy sound editors lazy re-recording mixers , use of overhead sound , the john willimas music sounded like garbage crap trash , the whole atmos garbage crap trash and goes in the cat litter , the mixers are lazy and should look for new line of work , total waste of my listening time , hollywood la sound people have gotten lazy at their craft with trashy pro tools atmos

That's interesting, it does seem that Dolby Atmos is unreliable for you, I don't know if you've ever had a good Dolby Atmos so I won't go too far in negatively describing it. I have no experience comparing different surround formats, so I definitely can't comment, but it's interesting what you've found - I think there's probably so few people with a good surround system that they don't know what they're missing and can't make comparisons, and therefore you have the sound people making "Dolby Atmos Trash" because virtually no one knows the difference!

yes for the stormaudio as its a bug processor been making a high pitched wining noise low dB level , first thought it was one of the amplifiers sounded like a cap ? then realised its the processor , switched off , back on again solved but happened few hours later again , off and on again solved

i wouldn't endorse this flawed immersive bs processor or even a trinnov that is overrated overpriced and can't do it all , most follow dolby labs bs code like brainless sheep ,, well iff someone want to be entitled to be brainless sheep ? atmos is trash ,, only one or ffew movies are decent enough the rest are trash and old movies with cheap 1 week or 2 week upmixes are totally worthless should be avoided , i don''t give a hoot what these lying insiders say , they only fear to losing their jobs , atmos is a dead sound trash format

these atnos mixers are so un-creative they need to step down and go and flip burgers and fries for $1.00ph as that is all they are worth , we spend money and time putting this together to get treated with raw deal armos/dtsx/auro 3d bs mixes , sick and tired of it , thank goodness i can use the other Dolby sound format codes with decent like mixes not trashy atmos

Hi Andy, I'm mixing atmos music in my mastering studio, I'm building another atmos studio in JBL pro. I quite agree with you, there is a problem with atmos mixing in movies.

atmos brand has lost its appeal with me , the music on gravity is by far , near best if it had discrete below in-floor surround arrays it would be a little near better but few more things to look at in the room , seating , oh sure some of the past THX stuff was an end game opener but sadly now those days long gone and THX is thx like , kfc small letters , no longer a longer name brand

i can hear sense mix the music in my head with flowing it / panning it , i'm not in a simple care for it today at present

re-mixed some sounds have been altered its sort like the hate this movie its 50% , 50% like or dislike it , sounds like , superman the movie early dvd 5.1 remix that everyone hated it due to the re-mixer altered sounds , ( only have to wait 20 plus years for theatrical mix for everyone to like it again )

the stage channels bass i can feel in my chest/body , so what is what i think , so what , i doubt real earthquakes felt in the chest since we'd all be standing on the floor/ground/surface hence coupled with the surface so we feel the vibrations though our bodies , or we can rise above it , hence decouple ourselves from the vibrating surface

the LFE is different and i already have idea with it , yes interesting i figured it should be interesting when i have the idea up and running

overhead surround use , mostly music , yes boring john williams music , yes cheap atmos upmix from scamming mixers re-recording mixers at scamming universal pictures , cheap atmos , cheap dolby labs with their cheap atmos trash and the mixers wasted their talent opportunity here , basically avoid buying this disc its cheap rubbish

this 4k has 50% chance of ending up in the cat litter ! the only reason i'm 50% holding back is the , yes , yes , interesting LFE i seen many LFE over the decades , but yes this one , interesting

will earthquake escape the cat litter ? is the LFE.1 the sensurround bass signal ? i have further testing here to be done to see if it has the effect it did at the cinema , 70mm four times i saw it , i recall a pressure wave movement forward/backwards

avoid this 4k atmos at all costs its distracting sound dreadful re-recording mixers at universal studios dubbing stage that should be flipping burgers instead of mixing movie sound , new added sound effects is distracting like that early 2000 superman the movie 5.1 dvd , dreadful
the LFE.1 , two or three sine wave signals 25Hz 35Hz and faint 45Hz ? not sure if its doing what i heard noticed felt on 70mm four times early 1975 , 50 years ago . half a century ago , no leaflet to explain no short video showing this , studios bs restoration ? i take it all with gain of salt

another earthquake cash cow for universal , avoid it ! stick with the previous dvd or blu or the son of the blu as its been milked so many times , milkquake sounds like a milkshake , it may not taste good but sure is lousy for atmos , yes if , sensurround was a gimmick then atmos sure is , no sound effects for overheads just now and then music which sounds atrociously mixed

i run this later in the day or tomorrow ?

had time tonight

quickly ran though the print ( sealed since its release 1990 , 35 years and its pristine condition ) laserdisc batman 1989 w/s THX/TAP Dolby Stereo lucasfilm ltd THX sound system

transfer is rather good , no signs of edge enhancement , colours strikingly laserdisc good , image was brightened up due to theatrical release complaints it was too dark and the transfer here looks great both sides 1 , 2 and 3 are CLV , no signs of laser rot

Dolby Stereo 4.2.4 mix has good blend of lows mids and highs with decent matrix surround panning

fun bat fact , batmobile with afterburner 350mph , where does he get those fabulous toys

minor boost contrast but its clearly watchable
