Why don't you watch it on your big videopro screen? you listen in stereo?
I do not care for the projector that much for myself. It is for guests only if any? Others that have projectors use them all the time.

@Andysu, you have some insane Kit Bro!
It's all cheap as fish and chips on ebay. I missed out on THX gem last night I fell asleep 3hrs before final bidding and the item sold $80 or £51. At least I took a print screen of it. One of the first THX early days when it started with a dbx rack fo the THX crossover cards that are the same as the later ones and the THX paten that was passed in 1987 with the introduction of the THX 3417. Still I would have liked to have easily won cos I would have outbidded easily. Just bad luck I feel asleep, I should have used the auto-bidder.

s-l1600 (3).jpg

I like how the dbx in the rack is mounted below the Dolby Stereo CP200 with THX/TAP engineer aligning the THX.

One of two personal THX 3417 that I own. Note the THX crossover card and the THX brochure are the same and this would have had to been around 1983 84?

To me it’s not about the cost of the kit, it’s about the Value of pleasure derived from it. In your case, it seems immense return on investment. I congratulate your passion and zest for your setup.

I ain't worthy. I ain't worthy. I was hungry for it. Waiting patiently like a cat hiding out in the garden in the bushes watching and waiting for opportunity. I'm done with it now it is complete. Makes no matter what other speaker cos at end of the day human hearing range is 20Hz -20Khz and a Cat is 40Hz - 80Khz so Cat outweighs my hearing range tenfold. I'm done with buying fish and chips cinema gear now. And Yes there is CP850 atmos on ebay usa. right now for $10k. That is 10k less than trinnov 32. I let someone else buy it, and pay the extra fees few grand more to dolby labs to get working on their 4k player which isn't gonna be cheap as fish and chips.

My THX home cinema inspired by the Empire Leicester Square.

Always wanted THX pro cinema which is different ballgame to home consumer THX.

Always wanted a Dolby Stereo CP200 which is regarded as the best cinema processor made even still to this day found only in Selected Theaters.
Always wanted JBL professional cinema.

What I couldn't get at reasonable prices is the JBL Urei 6290 amplifiers, some people are asking way too much for them that is discontinued and no longer supported by JBL Harman international, unless really good and can service the parts with new components. So I went for more powerful and class-D amplifiers that are cheaper.
JBL 4647 with JBL 2226 15" bass drivers the cab boxes was mega ultra cheap so I grabbed all five cos I knew I could have a better five screen matrix.
JBL 2380A horn with JBL 2445 compression driver which is not all far off from the ones I heard with a JBL 2360A thou are about usable down to 250Hz.

Only thing I don't have is duel 35/70 projector even thou offered 35mm Vic V, with red Dolby digital LED and low powered lamp house for £250.00 years ago and the Vic V, in it's day was 35 grand.

Still issue with 35/70 is the colour fading and then stuck with a dud that will still play unlike Waner bros HD-DVD discs that are useless! Storage of film prints must be kept in ideal temperature conditions, and frankly my dear, I just don't have the space room for film prints and often some sellers are bit greedy in the prices so it is a no from me.

Laser 4k projection on 120" acoustical transparent screen will suffice it starts up fast and powers down fast as well.

The other side of it most some Laserdisc with theatrical mixes beats any blu/4k disc, day and night. So least I have media disc formats and even some few VHS leftover.
Laserdisc is still in use here and very little use 4k gets played now cos of the studios making it a laughing stock with bad transfers just so they can ridiculously Milk consumers, which I don't find amusing at all. HD-DVD is no no from me, won't be buying anymore HD-DVD it is a dead format. VHS doubt I be buying any VHS only what I have kept over the years will suffice for some playback (very rarely here). Laserdisc/DVD is still a format I will buy depends on the rarity of the item, bluray/4k is format I have steadily backed away from due to applying upmixes for Dolby Atmos just so studios can yet again Milk consumers who don't know what to look for and listen for.

But does all this make my life any happier? No it doesn't it is just an immaterial entertainment and that is all it is and will be. I rather have cats to pet than my home THX cinema.

Main Cinema processor system and consumer AVR with some players in the room - Laserdisc players are kept in the kitchen so the noise floor will be silent when they are in use.

DOLBY STEREO® CP200 a must have if your an original Star Wars fan thou I personally find Star Trek movies sound better. Dolby Stereo CP200 was released March 1980 and was discounited around early 2000's and servicing or parts for it a little later so it stood test of time cos it was best processor ever made for 35/70. It took me months to find the rest of the units to fully complete the CP200 and it stands at least 28" high.
Dolby CP200 control unit
Dolby CP200 processor unit with Dolby A-type cards and be switched around for Dolby SR cat 280t cards.
Dolby CP200 accessory unit also has extra Dolby NR card slots
Dolby CP200 MPU-1
Dolby CP200 PS1B power supply

Dolby CP500 in the lower part of the rack
Dolby SDU4 x2 for five screen matrix - of inner channels left-centre right-centre / inner channels can also be used as stereo for non-sync music to set the cinema tone just like, well is the cinema or can be used as stereo on outer channels L R.
Dolby CP45 used for main surround fader for side-surrounds or surrounds and can be used as decoder for Below Surround that places sounds below the seating.

Sony SDDS DFP-D3000 great for use as auxiliary processor and even has a built in matrix surround decoder and many more channel formatting to switch channels around which the Denon AVC-X8500H can't do.

Behringer MDX4600 x2
Behinger DCX2496 x4 and fourth is in amplifier rack
Two of the DCX are used for Left Centre Right the second DCX used for Left-centre Right-centre and SW left and right at front of the room
Third DCX used for extra SW that is middle placed behind the screen and other at back of the room and can be switched to play the SW with the other JBL subs or used for Surround Bass Extension to give a lot more lower end to the surrounds. Also bass shakers for Irwin rocker seats, seat-buckets and on the floor as well.

Behringer DEQ2496 for use with Dolby Stereo Lt Rt

Main rack for the 38.000kw THX sound system - Laserdisc players are in another rack tower with Lucasfilm Ltd THX Sound System crossover/monitor 3417 very rare to get one of these now.

Behringer EPQ304 for use with JBL screen HF horns
Behringer inuke D3000 for use with JBL SW 4645/C
Behringer NX3000 for use for JBL screen bass drivers and some JBL 4682 TCB SW
Behringer NX D3000 JBL control SB-2 with control 1 for Below Surround matrix
Behringer DCX2496 used for the side surround channels each has its own feed to the Crown CTs8200 so I can make quick Re-EQ turning depending on the movie mix playback to cut back on mid or highs or give it a bass boost or a gain level increase to suit the movie best playback possible.

Dolby SA10 for use with Atmos decoding and expansion of the substandard Atmos x6 channels up to 12 channels playback depending on the encode/decode of the mix. This gives me new channels that are placed between each height 1, 2 and 3 that I call DOG channels Dolby Overhead God and some Extra channels that are placed on the floor that sounds like a vertical circle effect for each zone.

Crown CTs8200 use for side surround arrays just like at a cinema. Back surrounds. Other CTs used for Overhead surrounds up to x9 Overhead surrounds are used here with Extra channels as well that are placed on the floor. JBL 8330 mkII JBL 8330A JBL control 1,

Alesis RA300 bass shakers for seat buckets - other RA300 for floor shakers

Up to 157 speakers 38.000kw THX.

Needs a bigger screen, not very "home theater" on that front. Nice gear though
"Look some 4k laser projector up there in THX"! and the projector is in the kitchen so it runs silent! 120" side to side so it Looks huge compared to Oled.

Sony 4k handicam (no it is my Canon DLSR 750D I heard in the video switching the camera IOS dial) flicker as the setting for frame rate I not set it so camera sees flicker. Viewsonic PL727, I still have the projector little use it has had and laying on the floor in plastic wrapping so it is still new only had less than under 200hrs use and lamp time I think is 50.000hrs.

Region 1 DVD theatrical mix six-track DOLBY STEREO - not on blu and 4k cos the mix had "I want some butts" remixed all in the centre channel. So no dialog pan. Trivia, Top Gun first movie to play at the Chinese Theatre in Dolby format 43. I found that on the grauman's chinese org, and the movie only played for 1 week? It played for weeks and weeks at the ABC 1, Bournemouth, 35mm optical Dolby Stereo A-type thou cinema was geared for 70mm, just down to distributors. But hearing it on THX Laserdisc AC-3 theatrical is dynamic blast! The DVD is okay, but the later versions got the super35 score framing correct and with the original paramount pictures logo, but they had to mess up the sound mix with remix. So push come to shove I use the earlier version.

LOA CC Laserdisc was like seeing it again at the Odeon Marble Arch on huge 70mm six-track Dolby Stereo SR or again at the local odeon in a dinky screen what used to be large but was divided into 5 shoebox screens in early 1989 and LOA was first to show in real VHS letterbox cos the projection light was drastically reduced in size. But was told it was going to play in Dolby SR, cards was on cards leased for the CP50.

I not sure if this is region 2 or 1 as I upgraded to region 1 cos I got fed up with PAL 4% speed-up and thou the rate scene is crawl it is included but not sure which one I have playing, I l know it is the theatrical expect the end credits as there is a YT showing the original end credits as the home version was slightly altered.

TOS Laserdisc with original mono mix - THX .

Viewsonic PK727 DLP, Canon DLSR 750D with camera flicker

Thank you for sharing @Andysu !! i subscribed to your youtube, i love see chat

here is my system, tell me your opinion
I will be transparent with you. I don't like mismatched LCR it has no place in home cinema. They never use mismatched in dubbing stages or cinemas. I had to push the salesman at the PA store 1991 for three JBL control 5 but JBL don't break up a pair that is sold in the box. Took some persuading.
Change the LCR get matched up behind that projection screen at equal height. There are three JBL 4675A in Germany ebay, but too pricey compared to the ones on sell in ebay usa, expect postage would be expensive. Just watch the ebay for used/cinema and add used/Behringer DCX2496 with cheap Behringer NX3000 for LCR bass and NX1000 for HF horns and the turning of the crossover on the DCX to turn the horns down a little lower down with 24dB L-R crossover and extra Low pass filter set bit back away from the crossover point with LP at -6dB would be more than enough to keep lower lows from even getting into the HF horn. This as to be done with two matched microphones. I can expand more on this as it is really simply easy and there is a little more that is simple and you have to think like a projectionist thou they are now longer needed now, which is why I don't go near these 4k cinemas.

LCR JBL 2445 CD / 2380A horns
Ran out of PEQ. I should have some extra PEQ to trim this better by next week. Sounds good with dialog pans in Die Hard 2 (1990)

I can still hear the whisper "(wtf)" as it was in Dolby SR back in 1990 at UCI tower park.

Had another go at EQ tuning the LCR. I do the Lc Rc next.
I first used the Begringer DCX2496 and applied a wide Q bandwidth Q 1.0 2.4KHz and Q 1.4 620Hz with -15.0dB to get the bulk of the frequency range lowered so the upper highs would be within more less same frequency level.

I then used the Behringer FBQ2496 to make trims to some peaks/dips with nearly 20 bands almost used up on each LCR HF. The FBQ2496 for centre HF has few PEQ bands left so I may do some small trims later.

No smoothing.

At the price it is on ebay usa. Not paying that. I thought this sold in bidding war few weeks ago. Same image only not cropped on the fold out. image. This would be the first THX publicity handed out to cinemas around '84 I I would guess?

Seems the REW is giving me an inaccuracy which I thought was strange sounding on my JBL 2380A HF horns. I used the TrueRTA while adjusting for flatter frequency. Mesurement though the THX 3417 Amp return as the Behringer EQP304 has bit of frequency roll off.

SweepRTA1.jpg

Used the Behringer FBQ2496 with PEQ filter 20KHz and Q bandwidth of 3.0 and gain boast 15.0dB.
SweepRTA2.jpg

I had the TrueRTA sounding pink noise while doing the REW frequency sweep at the same time. The REW is elevating the frequency sweep, that is strange. I think I have to use the TrueRTA for most tests.

Using two Behringer ECM8000 microphones placed left to right of the JBL 4645C left and JBL 4645 right with mics near the ports. The audio mixers pan pots are set left and right with two TrueRTA opened up so I can observe stereo sub bass, but only using mono sub bass pink noise or sine wave, low frequencies while observing the RTA and listening to the pressure changes in sine wave tones.

This is I guess sort of new technique as I not seen anyone else with home theatre/cinemas using this technique. I can use this technique for the LCR of each L C and C R or Lc Rc, Lc C, C Rc or any of the sidewall rear back surrounds, overhead surrounds and below surrounds.

Star Trek II the wrath of Khan (1982) region 2 DVD looks stunning on the 4k laser projector 120" as well as sounds awesome in six-track Dolby Stereo - Lucasfilm Ltd THX Sound System

Third THX 3417. rare earlier model with original first design THX metal badge. THX crossover cards are earlier dated 1984.
THX 3417 came about in 1987 but used a dbx rack frame for the earlier THX crossover cards hence the date on the THX crossover card 1984.
