If your loudspeakers or room require such extensive acoustic treatment to control lateral reflections, full dipole loudspeakers are worth considering. Contrary to common belief, dipoles tend to excite room reflections less aggressively than typical direct-radiating speakers, or at least the reflections that do occur are generally more linear in amplitude and phase, resulting in a smoother in-room power response and therefore a more uniform spectral balance across the listening area.
