" The 78-year-old bridge along South Gregson Street provides only 11 feet 8 inches (3.56 m) of vertical clearance.[2] It cannot be raised, because nearby railroad crossings would also have to be raised with it. The street also cannot be lowered, because a major sewer line runs only four feet (1.2 m) under Gregson Street.[3]"

"As of January 2018, there have been no deaths and only three minor injuries at the bridge, leading officials to concentrate on more urgent safety issues."

Vehicle height limits outpacing existing infrastructure. The trucking businesses won't pay for structure upgrades. They expect democratic socialism(which they are against) to foot the bill.

Chair? LOL
Just teasin ya
I was adapting an IT joke, which is problem lies between chair and keyboard, aka a meatspace problem.
Thinking about it I doubt they are referred to as chairs even in a Rolls Royce.

I think they need to put a flashing warning sign there. Not just a static one that people ignore.
Some other barrier that will deflect, but make a loud noise might help, but most of those trucks don't look like they slow down till well into trouble.

I have to check to see if our RV is any less tall!

You don't already know the height to the nearest micrometer?

In your post above:

But that's already been replaced with a fancy message sign:

Both triggered by overheight sensors.
