This audio cable business is getting out of hand...

"Boo hoo traditional hifi stores are dying, people come and get our qualified advice, then buy online"
Boo hoo is right. The wrong Amazon is burning. All traditional stores are dying. No more demoing, you cant even look/touch products. No more knowlegable unbiased sales people (not talking hifi) only online marketing BS, paid shills or idiot influencers. Not to mention all the people out of work so Besoes can make $70,000,000,000 in one year.

Go to shows and you can usually demo 40 odd different speakers in one day. And touch stuff too, if that's your bag.

Appreciate that in America it might mean a long journey.

I was talking in general. And 40 ODD and /or overpriced items shown by biased shills is what you see, almost never what Im looking for.

I mean going back to the first post, Amir’s first mistake was buying twisted pair unbalanced interconnects.

(Not that it’s likely to matter in a 1’ length either way :p)

Is this cable worth the price?

Is this cable worth the price?
Fun fact: those companies could offer all length and plug options for the same price, it would make approx. 0.00314% difference in profit.

But then they can't, because customers rightfully expect the 3m cable to cost way more than the 1m one. One price for all would look mighty suspicious. Must be a scam, surely!

The amazing thing is how a company can legitimately come into existence and sell a cable for 61,000 euros and still pretend that they are actually a legitimate corporation.
The actual cost of such a cable is probably around six euros, even if they use the best materials. Maybe if they really went crazy and wasted a whole bunch of time designing something special, they maybe spent 24 euros, but that's about it.

Issues and means and ways:

They either can't see it or they won't see it.
They use half truths.
They use the convenient facts and ignore the inconvenient facts.
They use fictions.
They use spin. (Mind spin.).

I see it everyday and we all know it has been this way for many years.

Is there any evidence that such cables are sold at those prices? I'm not talking about cables supplied to reviewers under undisclosed terms.

That's a better question than it seems at first glance. One would assume that of course there's always a few lunatics really buying those, or else they wouldn't be offered continuously, right?

But we don't really know.

A national embarrassment

But what if it's made out of real gold or silver

Just curious as to where you found this ad ?

No matter how silly it sounds to us, there are audiophools out there with pockets so deep this pricing seems almost trivial.
I have to believe enough units are sold to cover the cost of advertisement.
One I've posted about here before is "TAS's Crystal Cables $34,000 Power Cord Of The Year The Audiophool club just gets dumber and dumber"
Now how many components does the customer have requiring AC cords?
I imagine any phool at this level has quite a few, at minimum a fully separate stereo component stack to include mono amps for his speakers.
Million dollar systems are considered entry level stuff to many on the world stage where customers just go to their "trusted" dealers and buy whats recommended. Maybe supported by letting the buyer read a "review" in one of the big mags.

You can afford to bin it if it doesn't tickle your nun-handles.
English please. LOL

"Bin it" means to toss it into the trash bin. "Tickle your nun handles" means to please (tickle) your ears because the sound they were hearing was so pleasing. "Nun Handles": The Roman Catholic Church operated elementary (grade) schools, and nuns were (and still are) women who dedicated their lives to serving God by way of teaching in the schools, which handle grades 1 through 8. Nuns wore uniforms called habits, which had veils, and the designs of these were specific to the religious order the nuns belonged to. Nuns were good albeit strict teachers who would tolerate no mischief during class time. If a student acted up during class, the nun would grab the student by an earlobe and march him (it was almost always 'him, and not 'her') to the principal's office for discipline. As a result of this way of leading s student to disciplinary action, 'nun handle' became anther word for earlobe.
