Hi all. I have been toiling over room correction options (with bass control) for a 2.1 HiFi system for a long time, and haven't found any suitable options. However I have been really looking into the Onkyo P-80 pre amplifier and I think it might be exactly what I am looking for. The Onkyo P-80 has Dirac Live and Dirac Live Bass control and has an AKM DAC that I can live with.
Since I like the characteristics of my tube pre amp on my integrated amplifier, here is how I plan on implementing my system:
#1. Feed my streamer digitally into the P-80
#2. Connect the P-80 to my subs
#3. Connect the P-80 to an analog Aux input of my integrated amp and leave the volume on the amp at a fixed level, and control everything from the P-80, (this way I still get the characteristics of the sound fed through the tube preamp of my integrated amplifier). Yeah yeah I know, some of you will say, why bother room correcting if you are just going to color the sound with tubes? However it is dealing with my room problems that is the ultimate goal here.
#4. Let Dirac Live and DLBC on the P-80 do it's thing.
Other than getting blasted for putting room corrected sound through tubes, Do any of you see any potential flaws or problems in how I plan on setting up and implementing things?
Thanks in advance for the help
