The ultimate low cost solution for room correction?

I am really enjoying the implementation of the ARC Studio in my listening room. Count me in as a believer in room correction.

Just for reference, here is a list of my equipment:
VPI Classic Signature turntable
Channel D Lino C 3.3 phono preamp
iFi Zen Stream (using Roon exclusively)
Gustard X18 DAC
Rogue RP-7 preamp
IK Multimedia ARC Studio
Rogue M-180 monoblock amplifiers
Devore O/Baby speakers

I am also using various room treatments (acoustic panels, bass traps and diffusion).
 
Hi.

I bought an IK Multimedia Arc Studio and I haven't been able to use it.

I use Windows 7, and I know that the official website says it's compatible with Windows 10.

But I couldn't download the driver, even for Windows 10.

In the Windows 7 "Device Manager," the "ARC Studio DFU Control VCOM" driver appears as not installed.

The ID for this driver is:
USB\VID_1963&PID_00BF&REV_0105&MI_00
USB\VID_1963&PID_00BF&MI_00

I tried to register Arc Studio with the serial number that came with it, but "IK Product Manager" says it doesn't exist.
The forum on the IK Multimedia website is not working.

Does anyone have the driver for Windows 10?
I'll try installing it on Windows 7, maybe in compatibility mode.
 
Mathaudio room EQ when using Foobar2000 they offer totaly for free an Foobar Mathaudio room eq addin with full functionality an it is shocking simple to implement. Only cost besides you laptop Pc that you probably already own is a measuring mic. It sounds realy good.

If you do place your measuring mic vertical as described in the setup.9 point measurment works fine using a mic stand is handy.

Welcome to ASR. We don't know what question you want to ask, or whether it's relevant to this thread. You will have to judge that for yourself. It's not impolite, a lot of leeway is given to newcomers to this site :)

My main audio system is consumer audio system with diy 3 way speakers with a passive xover between mid and high and an (analog) active xover (Marchand XM44) between low and mid (at 150 Hz 4th order LWR). So the lows are driven by their own amp (a Crown K2).

Can I just use the ARC between the active xover and the Crown (they are connectes with XLRs)? Should I worry about the extra delay introduced in the low range only? And will the ARC get confused when it gets a signal containing only the lows. Will it try to compensate for the 4th order LWR and put a lot of highs thru the woofer, that is my main worry. I guess in order to prevent that, you need to be able to limit the frequencty range it tries to optimise.

Btw The low and the mid/high are in separate enclosers (both closed systems), so I can change the aligment of the drivers a bit.

I think I made a thought error here. Of course when using the room correction software the ARC systems detects the whole response form the speaker with the MIC, not only what comes form the woofer (unless of course I turn off the main amp driving the mids/highs). So it may want to correct some of the mid/high sound it "hears", but of course those corrections will get lost when you send them only through the active crossover.. How bad is that??

May be a stupid question. How do you split the signal to the Crown and the other amp driving the mid and high? Can you put the ARC Studio before the 2 amps?

The ARC Studio in "natural phase" mode has a latency of 1.4 ms. It should be fine for low frequency. Sound travels about 1.6 ft in 1.4 ms.

You should be able to adjust the "Cal Range [Low]" and "[High]" to limit the corrections to the bass frequencies only.

Not a stupid question at all. I used to have a pre amp (Plinius) and two main amps, Plinius and Crown. With the Xover in between. So it was possible to put the RCA between the pre and the xover. But I sold the Plinius stuff. At the moment there is an intergrated amp (Hegel) that has an extra line out that goes to the xover. (so the mids are driven full range, nog ideal)

Its not ideal situation, should have never sold the Plinius amps. But my line of thinking was: most room problems are in the lows (especially for me, my room is almost a square). So can I limit the corrections to the lows only...? As I understand you can do that (which is great).

At crossover (150Hz) that's a 75 degree phase shift. I'm not sure what ARC will do with this crossover disturbance.
 
Why not put the ARC before the crossover? And connect both amplifiers to the crossover normally.
 
It's a pity that there is still no digital in/out version available and a version with sub out and/or more channels.
 
I have to correct myself. With ArcX Immersive you can correct and time align multichannel systems by increasing the number of ARC Studio devices. That's pretty interesting.
 
The day arrived. But "low cost" no longer applies.

Welcome to ASR. Nice product you have there. However I note that it is 2 channel only. Are you planning to bring out more models, for example to support 2 channels + subwoofers? What about a version with 6-8 channels that can do active crossovers?

...

only a fixed list of layouts, none including stereo bass?
