The Sound of Racing

And now for something completely different: 800 kilos 500 HP running Goodwood

My wife and son were at Goodwood yesterday, they were both underwhelmed by the sound from the electric cars!

My son did manage to get Leonardo Fornaroli's scrible (Mclaren F1 reserve driver an current F2 champion). He just missed Lando!

Racing sound you can imagine

My wife says the shot of the Ferrari 333SP V12 with ITBs at 14:53 looks like an egg carton lol.

I should've originally posted this here but worth posting again, since I just saw this thread.

Did you notice the marmot he ran over?
Must have been suicidal marmot. Not like a marmot could not hear that thing coming.

I would rather watch grass grow than watch electric cars race.
Slot cars were great fun, though!

Motomania! Holger Aue is one of the grandmasters of onomatopoeia.

We have speed bumps but it is illegal for them to be severe, as they can impede emergency vehicles (such as ambulances) getting to heat attack or stroke victims and more importantly for what can happen to a patient when the ambulance is trying to get to the hospital and the emergency ambulance attendants are trying to stabilize the patient while on the way to the hospital.
It is one of the few times I have been thankful for people suing. (to get the speed bumps made into speed humps and reduce their severity of damage to vehicles and the people in the vehicles).

Fyi, lining up there from left are Kawasaki 750 H2 (wizz!), Norton 850 Commando (classy), Ducati 900 SS (sweet), and Honda CB 750 (um?).
I have had a lot of experience with the first 2 and owned a 1982 unit of the 3rd one. The KZ with an extended swing arm, an expansion chamber exhaust and some steering mods was the most FUN. I preferred the CB 550K to the 750 for daily riding and even two up with women less that 110 lb.'s (I was 155 lb.'s then). If the passenger weight was over 110, then the 750 was a better choice. But it was a bland ride.

As we appear to have veered from racing to aero engines, here's a V-twin motorcycle using two cylinders cut from a Rolls Royce Merlin V12. (As used in the Spitfire, Hurricane etc.)

Practically blows the trouser legs off the fella. Lol.

PS That seat doesn't look too comfy... WTF.
Come to think of it, the whole thing scares the bejesus out of me.
Carb in your face: check. Square car tyre: check.
What could possibly go wrong. Lol

(PS It really needs a Browning 50 cal in the nose cone, for full on batshit insanity methinks.)

I would argue that air racing is racing! the fastest head-to-head racing on the planet!

I really never heard the 'inner dreams' of my RX-3s, but this may have been it:
"CRAZY Rotary Sound?! This 900kg | 290hp Mazda Revs to 10500rpm! "

I wanted reach inside my monitor and operate his (pussy) feet. He rides the clutch but he never changes gears, using the brakes instead!
Don't bother looking for an engine in the bay, it's a rice burner!
