Let's say (super-extreme example to make the point) somebody gets to 1000 dB THD+N ... and then somebody else gets to 10,000 dB THD+N. Yeah, we're impressed, as anyone should be. But is there any really practical reason to care about which of those is in our home system?

Once we get past audible transparency, who cares what the SINAD is? Anything over 100 is over engineering for the sake of a glorified number. And at what cost?

How about Yulong ?
Quite expensive and comes in Red too ... @Martin

The dac+pre-amp unit is $2.5k (USD)...over a grand more than a Topping D90 + A90/Pre90 combo having similar specs...and similar self-measurements (125 dB).

Does anyone know what Yulong does better than Topping to justify the higher price? They should probably explain this (at least indirectly) in their marketing.

I saw that in an an email from ShenzhenAudio today. Nice looking but expensive. I don’t understand the $1599 power supply - are they inferring the one included in the DA1 is inferior. I’d love to see it tested, with and without the optional power supply, but someone else will need to send it in. I’m still working on getting a working Burson Audio Conductor 3X Reference and an SPL Phonitor X to Amir. Maybe if neither of those pass muster, but I’d never pop for the external power supply.
