I haven't broken my new headphone cable in but all I can say is... just kidding!

I purchased a pair of Dan Clark Aeon RTs. My only minor complaint is the "DUMMER" cable that comes with them. It's both stiff and springy and slightly microphonic. Not enough for me to seriously complain about it, but enough to be mildly annoying. I'm also amazed that a replacement from Dan Clark retails for $110!

I decided to splurge on a replacement AliExpress braided special. My only "audiophile" concerns being quality construction and equal or lower resistance. If the non-standard specifications are to be believed it should equate out to 24AWG per channel if my math and guesses are correct.

I did get to learn what 8N OCC single crystal copper silver plated cable is. You can waste quite a few minutes on the audiophile websites explaining both the crystal manufacture and purity of 8N OCC copper. Does anybody want to guess a gauge from "16x22(0.05) strands" on the part? I've read the 0.05 is a millimeters.

The AliExpress price to my door in the US was $45. For that you got a cable that smelled terrible, has Hirose connectors of slightly lower (but still very nice) quality than the original, but is much more compliant with zero microphonics. If you want something easier to wear with lower microphonics I can recommend it. It's too early to tell how durable it will be, however.
