As an update of my post #636 on this thread, you would please find the post entitled "The latest total system configuration with DIY 12-VU-Meter Array, the best tuned time alignment and Fq response, together with further various setup info: as of May 30, 2022" here (post #540) on the project thread for my multichannel multi-driver multi-way multi-amplifier stereo audio system.

A very small and simple system for me. All music is played via my iPhone over USB 90% of the time and 10% over Bluetooth.

1) Mini DSP Flex with TRS balanced connectors. This unit serves as a PreAmp, DAC, PEQ, and Xover currently. Soon to begin Room Measurement / Correction and possibly DIRAC.
2) A pair of Topping PA5 amplifiers. 1 for High Frequencies and 1 for Low Frequencies.
3) A pair of Emerald Physics CS2.7 speakers.

The room is really too small for this but it is the only room that I have. Speakers are only 2 feet from each wall instead of the 3-4 feet that some say would be needed.

Sweet, Such a tiny component rig driving those large speakers makes me smile.
Times sure have changed,
Enjoy

Current Living room Setup:
Old JBL Cinema Speakers (4648a) with dual 2226H, on Top 2450SL on M2 Waveguide.
I've revamped the enclosures a little bit (added 9mm multiplex on the front and rear, more dampening, some new paint)

Subs are dual 15" CBs, so 8*15" in total. But honestly i have used the subs maybe once in the last three months. With some EQ the mains dig deep enough for the music i am listening too.

Awesome!! How do the M2 measure and how do they sound? Any problems mounting the 2450SL to the M2?
Thanks!

@mlee
You need an countersink drill for the screws which holds the mounting plate to the waveguide. The D2 is small enough that the screw holes were not covered, but the larger 2450SL covers the holes so you have to sink the screws.
And you have to mount the driver on the plate before mounting the plate to the waveguide, so you it was necessary for me to remove some of the plastic in order to be able to reach the screws.

S/O wanted to get into vinyl and bought one of the nifty automatic Pro-Jects with built-in preamp. I suggested the Kali LP-6v2 with a passive preamp. She heard them, but then the local store played the Focal Shape 40 and she was hooked. I suggested going Genelec but she thought they looked hideous, not to mention Neumanns. However, the Focal Professional markup locally was unconscionable. I'm fine with 10-20% markup for local support but local prices for the Shape series are more than double Thomann prices, and still slightly less than double after shipping and taxes. After getting stuck at Frankfurt, her new Shape 50s are here.

The markup for Shape 50s are so high that we got the Pro-Ject, the Motu audio interface, Isoacoustics stands and grey market Shape 50s for cheaper than what just the Shape 50 would cost locally.

Hi all!

Very nice thread this one, some of the setups are amazing.

I decided to post my gear too:

Current Setup:

WiiM mini

Topping D50S

XTZ Edge A2-300

Wharfedale Evo 4.2

Hearphone Setup:

XDUOO XD05 Plus

HiFiMAN Sundara

Sony MDR1000X

Older gear I still have (Now used as home theater):

Yamaha RX-V673 (2011)

Infinity SM115 + SM85 (1998)

As you see, nothing fancy compared to what I see around here. The living room setup is as hidden and wife proof as possible.

AD.

I may add some pictures another day :-D

That's my little set, in a rented flat I'm living during the week.

What ya see is the Kali IN-8 [first Wave] - measured first horrible by @Amir
but fortunately turned out better at the second try.

No room treatment here but a little LF "manager" [DSPeaker Anti-Mode - again
something what failed in total once @Amir had his fingers on].

However, for me the stuff does well. I can display childish pics of those I
like and enjoy the music.

Next to show the Genelec set I have at home : )

Keep going folks, cool sets to look at.

Just bought a pair of Buchardt S400 speakers to replace my Emotiva Airmotiv T1 speakers. They've not arrived yet. Pics next weekend.

Curious about your feeling on the Emotiva Airmotiv T1 speakers?

I'm not selling 'em. They're keepers. I'm just hoping the Buchardts are a better match to my listening room. I found the T1s to have an open non fatiguing sound with a good frequency response. But the T1s are, well, not pretty.

Ha, neither am I, don't judge a book by the cover they say. LOL
Anywho I was just curious and wondering why you were changing out.
Most every review have been positive but you know how that is.
Erin,s review of the downgraded T2 with measurements was quite a rave for such a low cost piece.
I can easily give up on purdy for great sound on a budget..
Maybe we can get one to Amir for a look-see sometime.
Thanks again for your reply.
Cheers

after a few of you expressed a intrest in just what each of us wasted our money on I though I would make a thread.

Post your current setups, stuff you used to have. Anything really but you must of owned it...( or made it)
Genelec 8040s with SVS SB1000 subwoofer in a quasi LEDE room seated 6' from speakers which are 6' apart. Other than room treatment and speakers, nothing of particular interest - cheap and reliable and transparent Behringer DAC and mixer and PC with Sonarworks room correction and Amazon Music subscription.

Active 3-way stereo setup. Wired fully balanced:

Oppo BDP-95 BluRay Player
RCF DX 2006 Loudspeaker Management System
QSC RMX850 bass amp
Parasound A21 midrange amp
First Watt J2 horn amp
RSS390HF-4 15" woofers
Quads of W18E001 6.5" midrange drivers, MTM with horn; two side-by-side above and below horn
Altec 511 horns w/TAD TD-2002 drivers

AKG K601 headphones for voicing reference

Yes, it goes loud. No, I listen at very conservative levels. The low-level detail is pretty amazing.
