More accurately :

“The first ten million years were the worst," said Marvin, "and the second ten million years, they were the worst too. The third ten million years I didn't enjoy at all. After that I went into a bit of a decline.”

The reaction tells me the intelligence of the requestor.

....or their age and reading habits.

I've just finished reading Eoin Colfer's conclusion (?) to the HHGG series, And Another Thing, and I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It didn't strike me as particularly Douglas Adams-ish, and maybe that was never the intent. But it did achieve the seemingly impossible (or should I say, almost, but not quite, infinitely improbable) task of rescuing the primary cast from what had seemed like certain doom.
