I’ve read a couple of articles about the new products by Brane Audio.
The existing product is the Brane X portable speaker.
The really exciting bit, though, is the Brane Party Pro and new RAD2 woofer.
In a prototype box with electronics, mids & tweeters that looks to be around 1 cubic foot or so, two RAD2 woofers are specced with extension down to 26Hz and output reaching a claimed 107 dB.
The other aspect is not just the output, but the weight and power requirements: they are apparently minuscule. They aren’t specced, but the speaker is battery powered and portable.
The basic tech behind it is all based on pressurizing the sub chamber and altering the driver to work with the new parameters.
They have plans to adapt the tech for use in TV’s, home speakers and pro audio.
As a bass player, I’d love to be able to gig with tiny, light, active sub cabinets that can cleanly output a low B with scary levels.
