quality of life updates:
Used 88HKD to purchase Spinfit W1, my comfort chart is somewhat wrong. I got many fitment issues and settled on S size. The Volume has increased significantly while sound quality is somewhat improved (haven’t did some A/B with them). Test them yourself or even measure them before getting one. If you are really sure of your size for these, just ask me to help you to get one lol. Arrangement be discussed (I bought the S size of W1 because larger ones are more slippery when I tested with Technics TZ700 which I feared closing in the end of life. Size isn’t something of your concern while testing W1. Btw I don’t even know if my offer is serious now.)
I have also tested some special sauces with 955 (cooked with old Crinacle data) and realised these:
1. PEQdB tune is still somewhat based on already existed curves albeit much more heavy bass response and treble. It’s more of a V shaped tuning that many listener liked.
2. Etymotic Diffuse Field Curve’s big problem is Mid Range is scrambled like a scrambled egg cooked by Gordon Ramsey. It’s more sided to well done and less silky than OG Michelin Chefs. Question yourself why laugh at Sharur while also question yourself why you trust Sharur. Question what you are doing when it sounded poop. That’s Not me, that’s Marco Pierre White’s recommendation.
3. JVC/Victor HA-FW10000 is famed and GOATed in China, HK, Taiwan and Japan Audiophile circle with obvious reasons. The tuning itself is GOATed as FW10000 fixed loads of problems on Diffuse Field Curve IMO. More lively, less scrambled and less questioning of your reasoning like MPW asked you to. I used the EQ based on FW10000 and boy I cried in poverty. It should be mine earlier. The only problem is that the snare part is too sharp sometimes.
(Out of Topic: FW10000 is easily having the best craftsmanship and better tuning that most have seen with quality wooden exterior, Spaceship like MMCX port and old money aesthetic and IE900 can’t compare to. I have chased a JDM version for years maybe and I will regret my stupid financial decisions that forced me out of FW10000.)
4. New Crinacle Tune is colored and louder than anything, not great not terrible. (Found on PowerAmp)
So my personal feelings are rated below:
Tone neutrality: New Crinacle<<<PEQdB<JVC<=Etymotic Diffuse Field
Clearness: Etymotic Diffuse Field<<New Crinacle<PEQdB<JVC
Vocal: Etymotic Diffuse Field<<<Any reasonable tune
My preference: Etymotic Diffuse Field<New Crinacle<PEQdB<=JVC
Conclude: JVC tune is much to my preference than PEQdB but I got obvious happy reasons to keep them. (Diffuse Field Style and V shaped tuning, Why not?) New Crinacle tuning is OK and Etymotic Diffuse Field is not on my taste from D1. Would do a EQ if I am lucky enough to get Etymotic EVO, and forcing that suit JVC curve.
