new tune.

Shouty sweary ELECTRO ROCK / HARD WAVE. 120 BPM , all synth VST stuff with vocals and sub bass.

It's abrasive.

BE WARNED !!!!! BUT there are some nice bits !

I'm just gonna post all my tunes in this thread. so it might end up being a Mega thread ... who knows.

The Fiio FT1 Closed Back headphones are really good. I like them a lot. the Edifier MR4 + Sub is still cranking and I think I get the tone of them now.
all three are worth the money, all up $750 NZD. Budget but grouse. the MR4 are loud enough for a medium treated room ( 16 m2 and tall stud ) . For sure.

My production skills are getting much better and I am clocking up the hours on the console. 200 hrs this month.

Getting the hang of the Shure SM58 and the Fethead booster with compressors, limiters, reverb, delay, overdrive, gates etc.
( distant mic for smooth vocals gain up and close mic for yelling with gain down. it's how you use it, right...)

the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB is still working... yey! the knobs are a bit lose these days...

ok I got to bbed now, exhausted. Slepp time.

:- )

This is what I posted on the REAPER Forum.
What I did not mention are the Edifier MR4 + Sub which I mixed this tune on. The tune sounds really really good on them.

Spent all night last night, sleeped, then got up and worked, then sleeped, then got and worked, and here it is. I feel OK. Mildly destroyed. Must be 10 to 20 hours in it.

Really pushed myself in this tune. I micro managed everything. It was insane. BUT I got there. Minor mistakes... overall mix, mastering... blah blah. It sounds AWESOME on my monitors. I mixed it to be loud. ( yes it's a thing. )

Synth1 on bass. OP-x Pro II on pads, saw leads etc.

Biggest learning experience was programming Synth1 to NOT have a low frequency phase. That was the biggest hurdle. It creates a volume change over time and is very hard to deal with. At it's worst it was blowing the limiters and taking down the whole tune. With reaper limiter I was able to WATCH the wave form and then tweak it till it was rock solid. sometimes you need to use your eyes! I use REaper Limiter for visual cues when doing compression etc. It is invaluable. and simple. It's the GOTO tool for me. No question.

and yeah NoAi, not Auto tune, no fancy BS.

Even made a GLITCH instrument from scratch with reaper sampleOmatic.

Over all I am very pleased. very very pleased.

Bang it at the Klub.
