Tested Audio: Our Ascilab C8C Order Has Arrived

We just received our air shipment of C8Cs. Alas, FedEx did some cosmetic damage to all of the boxes. We paid a huge premium to get these by air, but got worse service than sea shipment.

Anyway, we are going to inspect each one tomorrow for damage. Hopefully they are all fine (they look that way).

A customer/member has been kind enough to allow me to review one. So will be doing that.

Question: I have an A6B here for review as well. My plan was to test that first before C8C. Let me know if you all think otherwise.

I think the C8C next batch is in May, not sure about the A6B.

I will be selling my review pair of A6B. Other than this, C8C, BX8C, S6B and A6B availability will be in June. So really, not much you can buy unfortunately in the near term.

Situation is better for the lower tier products. Our next decent sized order will be C6Bs in March. Followed a month later by F6B/F6Bs. By May, we hope to have large quantities of C6B. Forecasting is hard but I am hoping by summer we have a lot of product to sell without waiting.

If there was no shipping packaging around the speaker boxes, then at least part of the blame for that can be put at the feet of whoever shipped them (Ascilab?) Standards for product packaging are different than those for shipping packaging. I would always expect bulk freight to have the products in their packaging further protected in appropriately designed shipping packs. Can be multiple items in each.

I get quite grumpy when Amazon sends me something without putting it in an outer box first.

UPS update after supreme court tariff ruling...

"Following guidance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), UPS will stop collecting IEEPA tariffs for U.S. imports entered at or after 12:00am EST on February 24, 2026."

I have not looked myself but company says they are double boxed. So what has occurred is cosmetic. I am also told that this experience is unique so they are going to look into it with the carrier. I am pretty sure none of our previous FedEx shipments came like this.

When I got my international order of my c6b from FedEx, it came damaged as well a large puncture through the outer box into the inner box, but the foam prevented it damaging the speakers. Thankfully it worked out okay though. Granted when you're getting a mass quantity there shouldn't be every box getting damaged.
