Tempotec Sonata HD Pro Review (headphone Adapter)

I got a LXDAC A01 ALC5686 USB Type C to 3.5mm Angeldac adapter from AliExpress ages ago, it sounds pretty good. Out of interested I plugged in my HD 6XX and was suprised how good they sounded, weren't under-volumed or anything (pixel 8). Wavelet picked up the model from AutoEQ but may prefer them natural. Either way excellent for $8.
seems to disconnect if i move the plug too much, may have to get another one(?). I've noticed Wavelet chews the battery something fierce so only use it half the time and still more convenient reaching for the XM5 Sonys.

just accidentally found solution to solve clicking noise when play or pause sound on my old sonata hd pro (not using for a long time)
i suspect two thing

1.using ugreen usb c extension cable (10387)
2. this time i install asus ai charger (because i want to charging my iPad via pc usb port)

i'm not using tempotec driver just use Plug n Play

hope it's help

i saw that hd pro has the same internals as hidizs s8 so who is the original designer of the pcb tempotec, hidizs or another oem manufacturer ? who designs all these dongle dacs, i am pretty sure they all come from the same few places because r&d is expensive and licensing is a no brainer from the money making perspective

The official site sells two versions Andriod and iPhone, and I thought they are different only by cables.
So I got a used Andriod ver and hope it works with my iPhone 13 mini + an adapter.
But seems I was wrong and it didn't work. It works with my MacBook tho.
Anyone knows what is the problem here?

Okay I saw reports in this thread saying Andriod ver works for iProducts. So maybe the problem is in my non-official adaptor, tho it did work for all other dongles/DAPs I've tried

You need a specific "OTG" cable to use external DACs with iOS.

Meenova make such cables, among tens of other brands.
I am using an OTG typec (f) to lightning (m) adapter which works for all the other 4 dongles/DAPs I own.
Maybe it has capability issues (it's cheap)

OTG/external USB accessories on iOS are a hellish nightmare of random incompatibilities, so I'm not surprised.

My recommendation: use Android.

Alternatively, try some other OTG cables until you find one that works.

The Sonata HD Pro is identical to the one sold in the iOS bundle.
