TempoTec Sonata BHD (non pro) volume control issues under Windows 10

Hi there!
I was wondering if someone else has experienced this issue with this Dongle/dac: I can't control the volume properly/gradually with Windows 10. It's either 100% volume (starting at 2% and higher) or 0% (at 0%). I'm a bit disappointed since I also own the BHD pro version and it doesn't behave like this.
Is there anything I can do about it?

My Tempotec BHD DSD is the same, but I usually adjust the computer to 100% for a DAC/Amp with independent volume control.

It seems that this is a problem not only with this DAC, but with other manufacturers too. Sometimes the connection gives smooth adjustment in the Windows environment, and sometimes the result is "yes-no", 0% silence and 1-100% sound just at the same level. I read that this is due to two connection modes - USB Audio Class 1.0 (UAC1) and USB Audio Class 2.0 (UAC2). However, I do not know much technical information.

Maybe the device implements only mute USB feature, not volume, and windows map that to the volume slider. That would be visible in USB descriptor of that device, e.g. with https://www.thesycon.de/eng/usb_descriptordumper.shtml
