And just because something might not measure perfectly does mean it actually sounds _bad_. People have for decades loved what's considered objectively "bad", so the bar for what people generally think is good audio is quite a bit lower than what ASR folks seem to believe.
Having that said it's nowadays quite easy getting even better sound than that low bar, and that's partly because of ASR and the message folks here have been pushing to the industry and the other audiophile communities

It would be even more bonkers if, in that book, they laid out a set of criteria that could be used to accurately evaluate a speaker from measurements so that consumers could decide if it is a candidate for their use case before even hearing it. Such a missed opportunity!
Since he struggled with respecting ASR rules and has found his enlightenment elsewhere, hope he finds some peace and enjoyment there!

‘Preferred sound’ is not a criterion here. This place is about measurements and what is objectively the best performance. Whether we ‘prefer’ such sound is irrelevant.
Easier to dial in the ‘preferred’ sound to a well performing speaker than try to correct a flawed one as well.
But I’ve quite enjoyed some likely objectively crappy speakers over the years myself.
The non-flush mounted woofers really bother me...Not directly related, but I love to peek at Tekton’s pictures to see what’s around the speakers:

They really are just box stuffers. White van speakers with a novel idea about the tweeters. No science behind it. Got lucky because most people that go to audio shows don’t have a clue either. Impressed by glitz. So proud to be a member of such a largely idiotic ‘hobby’.

It interferes not only with you but, above all, with the tweeter—or rather, everything it radiates—as well as the radiation from the woofer/midrange driver itself.
This will also show up as a disadvantage in the measurements.
It makes me wonder what thickness wood they use. Most 5-8” woofers can easily be flush mounted in 18mm material, this obviously becomes more difficult as material thickness decreases. Or like you say, it’s probably just a case of throwing drivers in boxes and charging x1000

I'm not surprised by the woofer mounting so much as it being a pro-audio woofer, going by the accordion surround.
Any idea which one it is?

No, I'm not up on the pro stuff. The TechTalk guys made some reasonable speakers using pro drivers, but the FR of the drivers was almost always secondary to power handling. Which makes sense.

The measurements of this speaker are not praiseworthy, but they are better than several others we've seen that are orders of magnitude more expensive. I can easily believe that people could find them enjoyable. But the attitude and actions of the owner have been abysmal, so any Tekton speaker is a total non-starter for me.
Would hope that we all respect individual opinion and preference as long as is kept within reason.
Normally, would prefer to move on in a more positive manner, but this case is bit more extreme so it bears some added details. In this case, the member not only struggled with respecting others but was also rather crass. He has pushed a pro-Tekton agenda here more than once. Did not discover this until he did not respond to my post, but has he had a troubling past history.
As I reviewed his history, he had previous warnings regarding inappropriate behavior from other moderators. One aspect of this is that many of his previous questionable posts had been deleted so only staff members could see them. Once I uncovered the length at which he was promoting Tekton, his most recent claim appeared to be more of the same. When he posted the other forum quote and ignored all the prior member questions, was pretty clear he was a fanboy troll. Along with the past behavior complaints, decided it was time for him to seek “other forum opportunities”.
