I wonder if he’s talking about professionals in the cabinet industry. The linearity comment and measuring them in real time are now clear: Mr Alexander has finally purchased a measuring device—a ruler.

I say as others noted, considering the construction and the drivers used, not terrible. It breathes classic design, i.e. an 8 inch bass with paper as material in the cone plus a tweeter.

Considering you said this Amir :

Momo has a low crossover point, 1.8 KHz, which is also different from Tekton M-Lore, so also for that reason it is not really possible to compare them both, I must add.

Of course, part of the allure of the waveguide is that you can typically run the tweeter to a lower crossover without excessive distortion.

I'm sure it makes a great little office.

Running it with a lil schiit gjallarhorn (few watts).The setup is not crazy as my large atmos room with the big triamped horns and big subs....but, the simplicity of it and how good it sounds with these very modest pro drivers makes me very pleasantly surprised.

(And no, wife did not hear it all the way in the kitchen and came running down to see what it was...it is just for me, myself and me alone)

Well, find a compact floor stander for 700 dollars or less that sounds better and let me know. Make sure it has a good return policy because if it sounded like sht, I'll need to return it and get my money back..

700$ is way too much for something that we rate here “not terrible” or “poor”. Regardless buy anything at this price, there is a high chance that it will be better engineered than this. However if you like this, it’s very unlikely that you will be able to digest something with better engineering

Put your money where your mouth is and tell me what it is, the better engineered miracle (compact floorstander, 700 dollars and under, shipped). I'll buy it and check it out. If it sucks ass, I'll return it and get my money back.

Please watch your tone and stick to your value prop challenge. As facts go, these speakers are now called Altas and regular price is $800. Add another $55 for grilles.

I’m joking of course! It is probably used to cut the foam when they pack the speakers for shipping …. But? … Wait … they need to measure the packaging foam, but not the speaker sound ???

Maybe check out KEF or Elac, though their cheapest models are closer to $1000 new. You get what you pay for...

Not only a FR hump, but is clearly a major resonance.

The resonance at 3500 Hz likely has less desirable audible consequences!

It will depend on the music. I can see both being quite annoying!

Agreed it wouldn't be my top choice... but we're being too harsh here. sometimes things converge in personal preference for reasons that can't be measured. It happens often it seems.

A wise old man said on another forum once, ..the scariest thing for the measurement adverse dogmatic audiophiles and the measurement heavy dogmatic audio scientists alike is a piece of cloth covering their eyeballs when they are scrutinizing audio equipment with their music. Who knows what they would pick as their preferred sound when that piece of cloth covered their eyeballs.. But, i understand, they all have to make a living somehow.
