Any "amateur YouTube reviewer" wants to fly out and "see how good this thing measures in real time"? After all "there's professionals in the industry that stated that this is the most linear loudspeaker that they've ever seen"
Are any of those professionals prepared to publish their measurements, or even be named?

Not necessary. He’s a skilled manipulator, and there’s nothing sincere in what he says.

Oh I know, I was just highlighting, as you did, that this is one of the ways it's done. Similar to his broken promise to publish his own measurements, that was never going to happen either.

I’d like to be there when he runs a Spinorama in real time :) Of course, he’ll insist that this kind of measurement isn’t necessary, and that only his method is the correct one. Classic snake oil sales tactics.

Frankly, he'd be a lot better off with just saying that he builds his speakers to sound like he wants them to sound versus any suggestion of measured technical performance. His speakers will never appeal to the serious tech spec crowd and the people who do buy his gear don't care. just my opinion, of course.

That’s not how effective manipulation works. It starts with planting an idea and a belief: that you know better. Once that belief takes hold, people begin defending you on their own. Add money to the equation and it’s game over. People tie their identity to the purchase, so any criticism of the product or its creator feels like a personal attack. That’s when things turn ugly.

I think you're giving more credit to Tekton's owner that the situation deserves. While some owners are indeed defensive about their purchase I doubt that they are the victims of an intentional manipulation scheme.

That is why Danny R doesn't get much work from credible OEMs anymore, they recognize the BS and why he sells mainly kits. If something isn't right with the speaker kit he can blame the customer.

I remember when he was doing speakers for Mark L. (Schifty) Schifter at AV123 and got upset that Mark Seaton was doing the subs, Danny wanted complete control over the conversation especially the narrative.

Bob, we need to talk :)

He never did “cook up” that perfect speaker I spec’d out for him, did he? The one that measured better than a revel 228be or Genelec 3861 for $2k?

The people buying this stuff are simply looking at a box and saying: "Dang that's cool, they put 20 drivers on one baffle!" And then pulling the trigger because Billy Idol: "More, more, morrrree!"

And then once they have it in their house and it’s theirs, any remote hope of objective thoughts about it just well…forget about it!!

simply blew past the much beloved Japanese loudspeakers of the '70s (and beyond), I suppose...

I mean: why would anyone want an NS-1000 if one could have a pair of those NS-9191s?;)

What a riot. He thinks in-room measurements are better than "armature youtube reviewers?"
Amir, are you serious? Eric Alexander said "there are professionals in the industry that stated this is the most linear loudspeaker they have seen" you dare question him and these unnamed professionals' claims?

Sorry sir, but I think you are the riot.
