Hello everyone, I have a Teac VRDS 701 CD player, which is awesome but has one quirk. The RCA out can be switched to variable and is adjustable from 0 to 100 volume. At 100, the signal arriving at the amplifier is distorted.
The TEAC can also be switched to "fixed 0db" (2 Vrms) or "fixed +6db" (4 Vrms) and the manual states "If the sound distorts, set this to FIXED 0dB". Can anyone explain the purpose of this implementation?
