Tcl televisions

Is the QM851G 63% "better" then the QM751G?
Well, all depends on your view distance, and how much immersive you want to be, at my old house I had a very small Home theater room, with a distance view of 4-5 feet, so a 65 LG Oled TV was good enough to play videogames and watch movies, then I moved to my new house with a larger HT room, with a view distance of 7-8 feet , the 65 inch TV became ridiculous small.
So I got a 98" TLC, (98S5550G) also $1800 , and so far so good. good to play videogames, and run a PC when needed. Also at same location I have a Awol 3500 ultra short projector with a 120" ALR rising screen. Which i use to watch movies, although no projector will ever win on dynamic range against a modern TV, the awesome immersiveness of the 120 inch screen overcomes any disadvantage, besides also It can do 3D movies ( i have more than 100 of them).

Maybe, it for sure wasn't the best environment, but it wasn't a very bright store either.

They actually had something similar on screen, with tiny, bright highlights moving around. It still looked impressive with little to no blooming. Obviously, not OLED-impressive, but still, much, much better than I expected!
If the environment is bright its harder to notice these days. In a darker room it becomes very clear.

In my opinion the video processing is often more important than the panels themselves. I have see identically set up Sonys and LGs and Sonys and Samsungs where we were comparing the Sony with the identical LG or Samsung panels. The Sony video processing creates a more fluid and lifelike depiction of motion and more natural looking contrast.
I agree. And I don't think you can measure local contrast/tone mapping and how it can make images look good or bad. Anyone who's worked with photography knows this intuitively. Then there's motion. I like the way my A80K looks closer to my Plasma than any other set I've seen.

I think I'd buy a smaller TV from Sony, LG, or Samsung. Though I'm not a fan of Samsung's video processing, but at least the TV will last for years.
Exactly. My TCL has had issues freezing since 1yr old. Never buying one again and just waiting for it to finally croak.
