TTGK, the Company behind WalkPlay and these dongles is working on adding additional filter types. I don't have the EPZ TP35-Pro, but I believe it may the first TTGK-based dongle offering 10x PEQ of different types--not sure about what filter types they would incorporate.I think the capability may exist in the device but the WalkPlay web app doesn't show it (perhaps I'm just not seeing it). Everything else seems to work ok, except the level setting is not in db, or if it is, is not correct. I haven't measured it but -1 sounds like a couple of db and -2 sounds like -4 to -6 to me. For me, the app is the only weak point and with my speakers, that don't need a HS or LS in their EQ even that isn't a problem. It will be for other speakers though.
One problem I am having is occasionally I have to unplug and replug the device into my PC. It always happens when I haven't been playing anything for a while and then when I start some music, I just get loud static. My PC is old and doesn't have USB C ports, so I'm using an adapter to USB A which may be the reason. I'm just about to build a new PC so I'll find out if it's just an incompatibility with the old ports.
Apparently, Tanchjim released a software for Windows, and the preview image shows a dropdown menu that suggests more filters. Perhaps someone can test that, but it seems it's only available in Chinese right now.Hello all, is there a setting for theEQ filtertypes eg. low and high shelf at least. Or is it peak only?
Windows? You might have the USB selective suspend setting enabled (USB devices can turn off when idling). I'd try disabling it and see if it fixes this issue. One problem I am having is occasionally I have to unplug and replug the device into my PC. Thank you for the info on USB selective suspend. I've now turned it off and will wait to see if it still happens ocassionally. I tried the Chinese windows app but I'll have to see if I can get a translation for some of it. It appears to work but only has Pk and now LP, so no LS or HS filters yet.Apparently, Tanchjim released a software for Windows, and the preview image shows a dropdown menu that suggests more filters. If you have an Android phone, try the Walk Play app (not the web app). It supports DAC filter options on the Stargate II. Someone may want to contact Walk Play and ask them to add those options on the web app, too, for this device. The Tanchjim app has been updated again and this time it gave me a new firmware. My dongle was on .3 and the new one is .7. I have only been testing mine occasionally because it clearly has some issues. It sounded very bright and distorted much of the time. I installed the new firmware and it now sounds more like my other desktop dac's, with audibly less distortion. I have no idea what the firmware changed but whatever it was seems to have improved my dongle substatially.
There is no option to change the filtering to NOS like some cs43131 devices have so I can't use that method to remove DRE. It will take a few days before I will know if the firmware fixed the issue I have of a blast of static occasionally until it is re-initialized.
I installed the Tanchjim app on my Android phone and it works fine, but I don't see the option for firmware update. I have faint crackle on the left side of my Stargate II and I was hoping to get rid of it with a firmware update. Hmm, I haven't tried the Android app. I used the windows app on windows10. It didn't give me the update the first time I connected to it but a few days later it was offered and downloaded/installed.I installed the Tanchjim app on my Android phone and it works fine, but I don't see the option for firmware update. Ssorry for the stupid question but how to set the dac to NOS inside Walkplay? The latest version of the Walkplay app for windows has the DAC filter options again. I set the Stargate 2 to NOS and windows to sample at 384khz, which should disable the DRE that causes so much distortion. I found the class AB vs H was working as well as the Low and High gain settings. This is all with the Tanchjim .7 firmware, which so far seems to have fixed my bug of a blast of noise from needing to be reinitialized in windows 10. It does sound better to me and the gain is higher than it was stock, so I'm going to use it for a while and then compare to my other DAC's.
In the Windows app, there is a tab at the top for filter. If you are using the Android app, there is a button at the bottom for "More" which leads to a page with the filter settings. Good luck!Ssorry for the stupid question but how to set the dac to NOS inside Walkplay?
For some reason the Stargate is no longer recognised by the walk play app.. is it just me?
Also confirmed WalkPlay no longer “sees” Stargate II. Since Tanchjim has it own app (it does work, as expected), I wonder if it’s not the result of some contract discussions: Tanchjim trying to steer the Stargate users to their ecosystem—app, shared EQ presets, user forum…For some reason the Stargate is no longer recognised by the walk play app.. is it just me?

Not sure it is worth the efforts, but it should be possible to re-flash Stargate-II with a compatible TTGK FW supporting these features. It would no longer be a “Tanchjim Stargate-II”, but become some other device or module, functionally identical but supporting WalkPlay. This is exactly what folks have been doing with the KT02H20 SoC, switching from JCally JM12 FW to FiiO JA11, or TinHifi FW.Yeah, disappointing if this is the case for two reasons:
1) Tanchjim doesn't have a browser-based configuration tool
2) Tanchjim's apps don't let you set the DAC filter (yet) so you can't set NOS mode which avoids the DRE issues.
I'm annoyed, it's a shame since it fits perfectly into my use case: a CS43131 dongle with PEQ without hardware volume buttons.
