I don't want to nitpick and the forgotten (h)our is probably only an oversight, but many people do not know this trick: calculations can (have to) be simply applied on the units, too.
I wish I had learned that in school: because if you have forgotten a formula, but you know the units of the result, then you know, when the formula is correct, or how the formula must should look like:

3590 mAh / 24 h = 150 mAh/h = 150 mA.

Checking the units is very helpful in everyday life, even for low skilled labour, for example, if you have to make a quick calculation with physical things per lenght, over time, in a volume, moving with a certain speed and calculating when the job will be finished, ...
Know the units, write them down, and you know, what numbers in the calculation must be multiplied or divided with what.

3590/24 = 149.58, I just rounded it because significant digits

edit: or are you talking about the h's? The h's reduced because 150mAh/h is (150mA * h) / h
edit2: ohhh, you put the h in there - yeah, that was just an oversight. I think I typed it and it didn't register (didn't push hard enough) and when I re-read it, I didn't notice the problem. The 3590 is definitely the capacity of my phone's battery, in mAh
edit3: I went to fix it and now I can't?! Is there a new rule that you can't edit your posts? I get doing it after two weeks or something, but it's only been a couple days!

Tanchjim Luna now released - 130 usd.

I like that it has 2 versions, one standard and sober, and the other waifu for those who like this.

2 x CS43198 based, which is the DAC chip without HP amp from Cirrus Logic, and instead using their own amp stage.

Specs are slightly better but to be honest it is beyond transparent as the Space 90 usd already is.

I think I need this. Does anyone here have this yet? And I haven't even received my Tanchjim Space yet LOL.

Not for me, given the "artwork". Disturbing.
There is the clean version with no "artwork". Is the one I would choose for sure.

There's an RAA test mentioned in other threads re. CS43131:
The test is about a distortion on "Song Of The Sister" track (Dune Sketchbook Soundtrack / Hans Zimmer) at some volume levels.

Tanchjim Space seems to be also affected. Here's how it looks with the output captured at DAC's full volume, -6 dB, -12 dB, etc, and then those captures normalized to 0 dBFS:

I did try the online test some times ago but honestly never been able too hear how these "clicks" should sound in the samples, maybe my ears are far from golden or dunno. Maybe all of my three CS43131 dongles suffer from this issue, maybe not, not being able to hear what it's like jut leaves me in peace.
Anyway, if the cause is the H class mode, then the Tanchjim Luna AB\H manual selection in the app can be a nice plus.

Could the 4.4mm balanced output on this TANCHJIM Space Portable be used as a balanced input on DSP or amp?

Ran the firmware updater for some silly reason because I wasn't sure I had the latest installed and it appears I've bricked my dongle.

I had some issues when directly using the USB Port on my PC, but after using one of those silencer things (a very cheap 20 buck thing from amazon) the issue is gone for me.

I can neither measure any distortion nor hear.

Has anyone noticed if the clicking sounds from the device sound like whistling? I recently checked and saw there's a firmware update from January this year, and it mentioned something about a 'whistling sound fix.' Just wondering if anyone has experienced this or if the update actually resolves it.

This is the firmware I tried installing yesterday and it apparently bricked my device.

Yeah I came across this post. The tool linked to in the thread doesn't seem to recognize the Space. Maybe I'll try other USB ports or a different PC.
Could you install the WHQL driver first? I have tried it with my working unit that without the driver, the tool won't recognize it, strange.

Update: Successfully updated the firmware with the latest one, got to rename it first from the zip folder into TANCHJIM_SPACE.hex with the naming suggestion with date of firmware release.

I used this link instead of the google search, it contains two firmware however, there is a new one with the 2024 date on it.

Tried this, but when it asks to connect the device, it attempts to finish and then asks again to connect the device. Still 'no device detected' when trying the Tanchjim upgrade tool or the tool you linked.

I got the 'success!' when I flashed mine but I don't think I renamed the HEX file with the 2024 date in the name... maybe that's why mine doesn't work now.
