While I'm a big believer in keeping our systems as transparent as possible so we can get close as possible to what the artists/recording engineers had in mind, I must say that if I were forced to just listen to the two versions straight through with no repeats, I'd be very hard pressed to pick one from the other. Personally, I selected the amplified wire for all three, but that was only because I could focus in on snippets I could repeat that allowed discrimination.
My conclusion is that electronics are very good and I'm focusing a lot more on speakers. There I can immediately tell differences and both my wife and I have strong preferences (thankfully the same).
