Taiko Audio SGM Extreme: WTF?

Invariable, these mega buck systems are housed in "The Great Room" of a 30 room mansion and as such they live in a marble/glass/hard surface location that would have horrendous reverb and the speakers are typically stuck hard against a wall left/right of the fire place.

So not only are the super-rich ignorant of equipment technical details but they are also ignorant of room acoustics which means despite whatever money they spent on the system, it can never perform to any degree of reproduction quality
To this point, some examples of the many I have seen on the web over the years. Being the wild and crazy guy I am, I made a power point presentation of these and add to it over time (so the below is not a complete list of what I have documented!!!). Yes, I have a sad life for which my wife is 100% to blame.

These photos not only cover echo chambers but the fact that many systems "need" LOTS of gear.. for some reason. The number inside the rounded brackets on the "gotta have lots of gear" slides is the total number of components needed.

Speakers are the one area where many super expensive ones also sound great. Does that mean they are good value for the dollar? No.
But they aren't "snake oil".

After all, many people, not just the very wealthy, have dedicated listening rooms.

Every single room looks like straight out of an Alien film set. And obviously, there are people who like this. Seems one cannot buy taste or style.
