I couldn't find any "reference" from TAD that the woofer has "edge-less" surround. Their current line of woofers use a different surround design.
Anyhow, this is how KEF makes/mounts their woofers their woofer to look like your picture. The KEF woofer has an inverted surround, and part of it is covered by a ring when installed into the cabinet,
I think OP is right. There seem to have been several "edgeless woofer" designs in the past (Goodman Axiom 80, Fostex SLE22W/SLE33W, Pioneer SWM1032...).
Since TAD was/is a subsidiary of Pioneer and the TAD TSM300 was unusually cheap for a TAD speaker and Pioneer employed edgeless woofers in some of their cheaper speakers (like the S-P3600v), one could reasonably assume, that the TSM300s edgeless woofers were manufactured by Pioneer.
I'm not aware of current edgeless woofers designs. Pioneer would be my best bet on "most recent" edgeless woofers. There are many YouTube Videos showing of such drivers by Pioneer that don't look too outdated.
