Switching from MiniPC Volumio to WiiM mini

Hi guys, yesterday I installed Volumio on my mini pc and connected it to the SMSL SU-9 via USB and so far it has all I need: TIDAL Connect and NAS playing.
Unfortunately I discovered that TIDAL Connect is under the Premium subscription so I was thinking to switch to a WiiM Mini that has the TIDAL Connect function available for a one time purchase.

Since the WiiM mini lacks the USB out, I was wondering if there will be an audible difference or bandwith limit using the SPDIF out for the DAC connection. Regarding cables, should I buy some expensive TOSlink or the AmazonBasics would be enough?

Update: I received my WiiM Mini with an optical cable included and it seems all good. The only thing is that the SMSL SU-9 displays only 44.1 or 48 kHz even if I stream higher res audio. Not quite sure if that's playing at 16 or 24 bits but I don't think that will be a problem.
